I am half way through reading "Winning Low Limit Hold'em" by Lee Jones-1994. I have Hold'em Poker by David Sklansky-1976 and The Body Language of Poker by Mike Caro-1994. I never started the 2nd two. I'm not much of a reader and my retention isn't too good. So I don't know how I will get through all these books.
I just ordered the following books from overstock.com:
Internet Texas Holdem - Mathew Hilger
Killer Poker Hold'em Handbook - John Vorhaus
Doyle Brunson's Super System II
Getting Started In Hold'em - Ed Miller
Harrington on Hold 'em: Expert Strategy for No Limit Tournaments: Volume I
Harrington on Hold'em Expert Strategy for No limit Tournaments Vol II
I was reading a little about Tournament Texas Hold'em and Tournament Texas Hold'em for Windows by Wilson Software.
And someone mentioned a program with artificail intelligence called Stacked which is do to come out this month.
.....Does anyone know if any of these would be good to help me learn proper play and stategies?
.....Does anyone have any other programs to suggest?
Thanks. |

I haven't used software like Turbo Texas Hold'em before, but I've only heard good things about it. Check out their website:
http://www.wilsonsoftware.com
This program allows you to play in several different situations that you can setup. It gives you advice on your plays and almost everything appears to be customizable...even down to how your particular opponents play (tight-aggressive, loose-passive, etc.) I know that Mike Caro has been a big fan of this software for years and there are testimonials from him, Lou Krieger, and others on the site. Seems like it might be a good investment at some point in one's poker career.
As far as Stacked goes...Stacked is actually a video game endorsed by Daniel Negreanu and other pro players. It will be available for the XBOX, PS2, and PC. It is currently scheduled to be released on Oct. 17th. It seems like it is going to be a fun game and is supposed to have the most advanced poker AI in any poker video game previously. You should check it out here:

Also, this is a link to an article written by Daniel Negreanu about Stacked that was published in Card Player Magazine:

I hope this helps some... |
