I caught all this... youre welcome...

Welcome to the Full Tilt Poker Chat Room. Our chat topic is Cap Games with our guest, Howard Lederer. Please submit your
questions below.
Question From PokerShark718: I recently left Party Poker because of so many bad beats, will CAP prevent that from happening?
Howard Lederer: No. Bad beats are part of the game of poker. But, in cap games, bad beats won't cost you your whole BR. It
takes away the "knock-out" puch a weak player has in a NL game
Question From mightycombover: So the only difference is that if a player moves all in, rather than the 100k he has, it would
honor 30K instead?
Howard Lederer: Yes
Question From LS1_Stud: we need a "Find the pro's" feature instead of having to manually search
Howard Lederer: We are working on enhanced search features. But right now, if you just check all the lobbies, the pros are easy
to find. Just look for "red"
Question From willy0801: do you like cap games?
Howard Lederer: I really like cap PLO. The game plays fast. But, it also alowed me to make some intersting plays not available in
regular PLO
Question From golf4life109: why the cap on the lower limits...i really see this as a more valuable type of game for higher limit
games?
Howard Lederer: we don't want to discriminate. I think all players will find it interesting and fun. The high limit players shouldn't
get all the fun. $100 is a lot of money for some players. It all depends on your BR
Question From PokerShark718: Is it possible to go all in preflop with CAP Games?
Howard Lederer: It is. But it still very dangerous. You will still be laying the pot a big price. After the flop is where Cap betting gets
really interesting.
Question From idontgamble: How long have CAP games been around? Who actually came up with the idea of NL CAP? Are
CAP games exclusively on FTP?
Howard Lederer: 1. Many years in the big game.
2. Don't know
3. Online. Yes.
Question From Roberto Luongo: Do fishes like cap games?
Howard Lederer: They might. If you are finshing, you might find your best catches in these games. Remember, losing 30x the big
blind is still a big loss. You want to use solid NL strategy on most hands.
Question From afkshower: Summarize why Cap Games are beneficial towards skilled players
Howard Lederer: They will challenge you to play a new game. They will breed action. Solid play will still get the money
Question From twinklebells: Are girls as hot in London as they say, if so, can you still play strip in the CAP style?
Howard Lederer: LOL. Yes!! I was in the hotel lobby and my wife almost fainted today. James Blond Daniel Craig) walked in. That
was a thrill for her.
Question From PokerShark718: how many other pors play cap games besides your self?
Howard Lederer: Almost all the top pros have played it
Question From jmurjeff: Wouldn't there be no reason to buy in for the max now if the cap is only 30 times the big blind?
Howard Lederer: Yes. No need to buy in for than the cap. I would reccomend a buy-in for about 50x. That way, if you lose a small
pot, you won't be below the cap
Question From epaule: hi howard, would you mind elaborating on the plays you made that are different in capped PLO as
opposed to standard PLO?
Howard Lederer: You can play some interesting hands like 2 pair and a mediocre flush draw for the cap. It puts a lot of pressure
on your opponent and if you run into a set, you can still draw out. In regular PLO, you might face a huge re-raise and have to fold.
Question From pokermanrd3: Howard, Ive noticed many pros are staying in London now, is there some event there?
Howard Lederer: Yes. We are playing a tournament tomorrow and then next week we are filming a big cash game called "The
Million Dollr Cash Game" for Sky Sports. We hope to bring this show to the US
Question From The Famous 1: Hey Howard, scenario 6 handed i get KhKd raise, the blinds fold, one guy calls, the flop is 7 8 10
all clubs guy bets the pot, would you fold in a NL game? would fold in a CAP game?
Howard Lederer: If you have the Kc, you can probably play in a cap game for the cap. IN regular NL, if you are faced with a raise
for your whole stack, you are in a really tough spot
Howard Lederer: BRB
Howard Lederer is away from keyboard.
Howard Lederer has returned.

Question From sunfish2: so in theory, cap games will slightly lower your win rate, but also lower your variance?
Howard Lederer: in theory. Yes
Question From twinklebells: In a CAP game...what would be the lowest pp you would call the cap with? Is this a lot lower than
you'd consider in a NL game?
Howard Lederer: Maybe about 99 or 88. Yes, I would find it tough to play for more than 30x with less JJ
Howard Lederer has returned.
Howard Lederer: I'm going to switch a few general topic questions before I go to bed
Question From Dave Armstrong: Did you have a chance to speak to Daniel Craig? There's a few poker scenes in the new Bond
movie.
Howard Lederer: No. My wife seemed to think he knew who I was. I don't believe her.
Question From rootdown: I am a NLHE player who is looking for another game to learn. Is it difficult to switch from NL to Limit?
I usually hear about people making the transition the other way.
Howard Lederer: There is value in playing all games. The transition will improve your NL game. Give it a try
Question From vixen68: Why does it seem like you get no respect in recent commercials?
Howard Lederer: LOL. I am not embarassed by "only" having 2 bracelets. I think that ad just highlights what a great player Erik is.
Question From duganja1: "Million Dollar Cash Game" HOWIE YOU HAVE TO TELL US MORE!?
Howard Lederer: WE are going to have a great line-up. Hnasen, Ferguson, Harman, Ivey, Juanda, Seidel, Cunnungham,
DeWolfe, Matusow, Tony G and myself. I am really jazzed.
Question From Patrick02: pro players actually sleep?
Howard Lederer: Not enough! When the action is going fast and furious, the games call you in your sleep
Question From Vyszion: do you know if chris furgason is really trying to turn 0$ into $10,000? Someone said something about it,
and I saaw him playing in some low money tournaments. and if so does he have a time frame?
Howard Lederer: Chris is very patient. He waits for the freerolls and is trying to build a BR. ONce he has enough money, he will
try to move up slowly. I predict he will do it. He wants to prove a point.
Question From serferlady: is the site going to have horse or other mix game cash games at all? like the triple draw or badugi
games?
Howard Lederer: We are working on mix games. The other are not planned.
Question From alexx king: This is the first time I have seen the chat. How often does Full Tilt plan on doing this?
Howard Lederer: WE have chats on a nightly basis. Many are "impromptu". Just check the "Pro Chat" lobby and tune in
Question From ACESDOWN14: Howard, do you favor cap games?
Howard Lederer: No. I enjoy playing them. But, you should enjoy all the games. Find the ones you excel at and play them all.
Question From serferlady: since you arent playing the wpt events do you plan to play more ept events or other tourneys abroad?
Howard Lederer: Yes. I love Europe. The game is growing fast here. There a lot of tournamnets to choose from and I expect to
play in more of them.
Question From rootdown: On e suggestion fo the site Howard. Allow players to change the size of the windows to fit multiple
tables better on the screen.
Howard Lederer: We are working on it.
Question From ScoobyDoo123: What's the biggest pot in a cap game you've seen?
Howard Lederer: I once won a 4 way 75k cap pot in PLO. That one was over 325k.
Question From JJLaw: why can I play a good game against decent players; but cant seem to beat my calling station donkey
friends on Friday nights?
Howard Lederer: Playing against calling stations takes patience. It is less skillful, but can be rewarding. Don't try to "out play"
them. Wait for the nuts and bust them.
Question From kczerwie: do you think omaha will be bigger that nl holdem in the near future?
Howard Lederer: PLO seems to be growing. The general trend in poker over the years will be towards the others games. Most
new players have come to poker through NLHE. But, the same game gets old after a while. The other games have a lot to offer
and I expect to see
Howard Lederer: games like PLO grow very fast
Question From Gonso: Are there a new "series" of Full Tilt commercials planned anytime soon?
Howard Lederer: We like to add to our commercials each year. I would expect new ones by early next year. We just finished a
new "Aussie Millions" ad. It is very funny. You should see that one very soon.
Question From actiondavidk: Howard, has FTP considered adding NL games with antes?
Howard Lederer: It could happen. I think they would be fun.
Question From jjflash69: Do you think that the 50K HORSE event will evolve into the new "Main Event" for the pros and take
some prestiege away from the Main Event?
Howard Lederer: THe 50K horse will evlove into its own type of great presigious event. But, it will never replace the Main Event
Question From mattvanhorn: You used to play backgammon in NY, right? What do you think of the chances of online
backgammon taking off like poker?
Howard Lederer: Not very likely. Right now, computers play BG better than the best humans. That is a big problem. The best
computers cannot hold a candle to good poker players.
Howard Lederer: It was a lot of fun doing this. I am off to bed. Godd night. And good luck!!
Howard Lederer has left the room.
