Perry had jacks up on 4th, and I had a monster draw. Question, do you call me down with the jacks up? It looks like dry aces or a strong low draw after I raise on 5th with the 9 and just call the reraise. Perry admitted playing the jacks to begin with wasn't a great play, but he had the right read. I didn't have the aces.
Personally, not having near the feel as someone such as Perry, I probably fold on 5th. I'm pretty conservative like that. I really try to avoid going broke with big pairs. |

I posted something similar a while back, about how big the pot should be before you'd automatically call down in hopes of winning half the pot against an obvious freeroll.
Lets say you have kings up and your opponent is showing 234 on fifth, and somehow you know that he has an A-7 in the hole - so he's on a total freeroll. How big does the pot need to be for check-calling to be better than simply folding? Obviously if the pot was 10,000 big bets, you'd call all the way down, and if it was 2 big bets you'd fold.
A mathematically-inclined friend of mine worked out that the pot needed to be just over 10 big bets for it to be worthwhile (he made some assumptions of course). You can read the thread here:

Of course, we both agreed that it would be better to not get into this situation in the first place! |

| Thank you very much. I didn't realize it needed to be THAT big. Very helpful. Factoring in dead cards you can make the proper adjustments as well. |
