Hey Strasse thanks for posting those hands. If you want to play some low limit Stud sometime let me know. I like playing HORSE and I think Stud is my weakest game. I'd like to get some practice in and playing with you would help even more I think. You could point out all the dumb mistakes I make. Laughing

OK, there's a couple of things bugging me about these hands, I'm probably wrong abuot a couple of things, but I'd appreciate an explanation to work on my ailing stud game a little bit.

Hand 1:

If you're dead certain on your read then fair enough, but if Perry is LAG, then I don't know why you can't put him on QT(J) or AhXh(Jh) I think I would probably have raised on fourth just to clarify my read. Does that give away that I have a rolled up pair too much?

I really wasn't sure about betting out on 6th, but the more I think about it, the more I like it. The check on 7th I don't like. your ~5:1 to hit your card on the river, so I think he's missing a bet here. You've made your trap for this hand so can he really be fearing a raise can he?

Hand 2:

OK, only one thing bugs me about this hand, and its that Perry Friedman is sitting with less than an ante and 2 big bets. I don't think anyone should EVER let this happen, except for those that take their entire BR to a table outside their limits, which I doubt Perry is doing here.

Oh yeah and what is Slick doing at a 2/4 stud table? Don't tell me you play that level all the time?

I had made a large withdraw and left only $80 on the site for this one specific reason. To play in the 2/4 stud game with Perry. And if you notice in the first hand I was up, then the next I was down. I was very unimpressed by the level of play of most of the table. With exception of course to Perry and Strasse. I lost three big pots to rivered flush or full house. I'm pretty certain that the full house only had two pair going to 7th. I had straight on two of them and trips on the other. I'm also very certain I could beat this level if I had the BR. Notice it was last September when these hands were posted.

When he raised on 5th, I thought maybe he was on a flush draw. People raise with flush draws all the time. When he flat called my open pair on 6th after hitting his club, I feared maybe he was slow playing the made flush. If he has nothing but a busted draw, he's not going to call at all on the river, but if he has the flush, he's at least calling, if not raising.

The only way I get called by a hand I beat is if he really did slow play aces from the get go, or if he made two small pair.

Rob, I'm very sorry I haven't responded to this post yet. I have been very busy lately, and will probably be very busy for the next week or so, but would love to play some stud with you when I get some free time. My AIM is AsfispimpIsMyRazzGod so we can set up a game. Please let me know when you get this so I can remove my name.
