did you guys see these new horse 1 dollar sit n gos. these look really cool because it can give beginners a chance to learn to play some horse well without investing a lot of money. plus unlike the other 1 dollar sit n go's these are not turbos. thsi gives a lot more play and makes them lessl like a crap shoot. i'm gonna play one now... it looks like drcossack is going to play with me as well

yea, I think there was a thread about this when they first introduced them. If you don't mind playing against dead money most of the time, they are great.

it took me three times but i just cashed in one of these things. i kind of like them because they are so cheap. the only bad thing about these things is the players... really they are bad. i mean really bad. it was the weirdest thing to. because when certain games came around i could tell you had no idea how to play because i simply stole every pot. especially in hold em. i was raising probably 90% of the hands in hold em. i would make continuation bets every time and it worked pretty much every time. i'm pissed the way i busted. three players left. i was in sb and it was folded to me. (limits are 300/600) i raise it to 600 with pocket tens. the bb pops me to 900 (we had very similar stacks... about 3200 or so) so i repop it to 1200. BB hesitates for a while but he still caps it. i INSTANT raised him every time the action was on me, but thsi guy hesistated. i am almost positive this guy has something like fives, sixes, sevens, eights, or nines. a pair in that range because i was raising every hand three handed so he figured i was just trying to be hyper aggressive with nothing and he was trying to get me to fold. also when he hesitated i knew he was pretty weak. it didn't make a difference really what the flop came cuz i was instant betting it. i wanted to show major strength... plus i was pretty much pot commited. flop comes king eight nine. i bet... he thinks for a pretty long time and then just flat calls. then the six comes on the turn... well i am pretty surei am beat now cuz of six eight nine on the board. i'm pretty sure he hit the set but we get all the money in anyways... he had pocket sixes. i knew i was screwed on the turn when he reraised me. i was just like... well later i can't get away now.

oh well......

Nice read stevn. Sucks to know you're pot committed and crushed at the same time.

i'll probably move up soon once i start getting some good results on the one dollar ones. i don't want to move up if i'm pretty much completely new to a game. before these new horse sit n gos i think i only played it twice before. one five dollar tournament and maybe a five dollar sit n go... i'm actually not really for sure about the five dollar sit n go so i mihgt of played it just once.

i find that HORSE and turbo don't mix, i find you only get to play like one or two hands before the game changes and the blinds go up.

this is very true when you have one or more people who are slow.

Well, actually, in LHE, you are pretty much always pot commited after a few bets, but LHE is about saving bets, so since you seemed pretty sure that you were beat by a set, and with a K on the board, you could have folded.

yeah i know it is about saving bets but i only had one Big bet left so it was right to put it in for the chance to hit a ten or a seven. there was no point in saving those chips and then having to put them in the next hand with three six or something and only win a small amount compared to if i hit my miracle . if i hit it i would of had won a big pot.
