I have noticed in the larger rings of Omaha and O8 that whent he 9 tables are full the nut draws still hit but people stay in wth lower draws....
On Party Poker they have 10 seat tables.... Where even if you assume you might have18 outs.... there might only be 8-9 cards left depending on the streets to come.... so is it safe to say the 9 and 10 seat Omaha games becomes a crap shoot when drawing? |

| How many cards are left is irrelevant. The odds of the ace of spades being the 8th card in the deck or the 46th card in the deck are the same. Maybe you can get some reads as what cards people might be holding by how they play the hand, but it doesn't make drawing anymore ev+ or -. |

But do you think it effects the point people bet at certain levels knowing that the more cards are out the less people will draw? I guess its more situational but considering you cant get reads on people, are the pot odds effected more if you put someone on a draw?
I just thought it was insane that PP didnt have any 6 max tables for O8 and wondered if it made it less profitable long run with those additional cards out. |

Omaha only becomes -EV when you're sitting at a table where you're one of the weakest players. As long as your table selection is good and your skills are fine, it won't matter if you play full ring or 6-max. As far as which is more profitable, 6-max will be more profitable provided you're a better player. After all you profit from your opponents mistakes and the ability to make correct decisions. You just get more decisions to make in 6-max than in full ring. The downside to 6-max is the variance is going to make you downhearted if you're not used to it.
Drawing isn't affected at all, and in lower levels people tend to stay and draw more because they're more likely to hit the pot weakly. For example a ragged board may have given someone a gutshot and top pair so they'll stay in it.
They also have 6-max for O8 at PP. It's just for the limit side only. The same goes for Omaha hi. It's also seems to be available only at $5/$10 or lower. |
