I have 2.

Howard Lederer - He is so old school. No glasses, no iPod, no chip tricks, no flash. He's tight and aggressive, and stacks his chips so high. Looks very cool.

M'man "Action" Dan - His books have helped me, big time. Besides, you gotta love someone who raises 2 players (One of whom is the big stack) $1,000,000 with a 62o, at the final table of the WSOP. Who's got the big cahones Mike?

Phil Ivey,Layne Flack and Gus Hansen are my top three. There all hyper aggressive and they do what I have a hard time doing and thats playing the player not the cards. There ability to raise with junk cards to take advantage of weak situations is incredible. All three of them can make some incredible reads.(not that other pros can't). And my favorite old school player is Stu Ungar he had so much raw talent it's mind boggling.

I dont know if youve read HOH vol 2, but he explains that play in there....get some beginner (preferably one who thinks the pros really arent that much better then everyone else) to read his explanation of that play, called the squeeze play, and see what they say....man this game is complicated.

As for my favorite pro, i love harrington, but i might be biased because of the book...i dunno

Also a big fan of Annie Duke.....she was so inside hellmuths head when they went heads up in the tournament of champions last year, that was really impressive.

Very true zipster. It's also amazing how many times she has eliminated her brother from tourneys.

As a girl, Jen. Harman is my hero. Also love Lederer, Ferguson, and Ivey.

Jaconda, this may be a little rude I guess, but I've been wondering for like a month whether you are a guy or gal'. I can't really tell because for me.. I just don't know! If I am rude by asking, you don't have to answer and I apologize.

Lol. It's not rude - no worries. I believe I've posted several other times on the forum that I'm a girl, but that kind of stuff is easy to miss. What gave it away if you didn't see that? The name ending in a?

Did anyone catch Phil Gordon's final table appearance at one of the 2005 WSOP events last night on ESPN? Contrast his graceful exit (even though his AA lost to TT, he maintained a smile, wished everyone luck and shook hands all around) with some of the other players' reactions, which range from rude to arrogant to overly dramatic. Quite refreshing.

Daniel was on fire moreso during 2004 than he has been in 2005. He was the most consistent player during the '04 WSOP but fared pretty poorly in '05. (Which is no big surprise, given the record-setting fields in these events...certainly not implying he isn't among the handful of the best tournament players on the planet earth.) I also enjoy the fact that he is willing to put his money on the line and challenge all comers in any event of their choosing over at the Wynn. Good publicity for the new casino on the block, and for Daniel, and for the game in general.

He was playing Greenstein in a series of nine different events, each for $500,000, I think? I know Barry won the first two, Daniel the next one...not sure after that.
