|
[Event 27] $5,000
Pot Limit
Omaha w/ Rebuys
Phil Ivey wins his 5th Championship Bracelet
After a flop of [4c][7s][8d] Robert Williamson III bet 40k and Phil Ivey raised enough to put him all in. Williamson III called pushing all in and the players turned up:
Phil Ivey [4s][5c][6s][10d]
Robert Williamson III [2s][8s][As][2h]
Phil Ivey had flopped the nut straight against Williamson III's trip [2]'s. When the turn came [4h], there were only two [2]'s left in the deck to save Williamson III. The river came [3s] giving Ivey the pot and his 5th Championship Bracelet.
I'm probably not the best person to post this but congratulations Phil Ivey! Very well done |

am i missing something? how did williamson have trip 2's on a flop of 4 7 8? seems like he had a pair of 8's with an ace kicker..? |

Hand 290 - Ivey has the button, he limps, and Williamson checks. The flop comes 8-7-4, Williamson bets $40,000, Ivey raises, and Williamson calls all in. Ivey shows 10d-6c-5s-4c (ten-high straight), and Williamson shows Ac-8c-2c-2h (pair of eights). The turn card pairs the board with the 4h, and Williamson needs to catch a two to stay alive (2 outs). The river card is the 3s, and Robert Williamson III is eliminated in second place, earning $350,380.
Theres the actual hand from Cardplayer.com which explains the end better.
