This fell through the cracks, I noticed on 2+2 there is a digest for a lot of their forum sections that point you to either hot topics or good discussions. I think it would do the forum well to have either volunteer or elected members for each part of the forum that would be able to make posts in a locked sticky at the top of each section. They could post links to the current hot debates or generally good posts allowing us to filter out all the excessive posts that have been made recently.
You could make this a monthly duty, and have it stick to the volunteer unless someone else lobbies for the position, in which case mods could judge or bring it to a forum pro vote etc.
In any case, you wouldn't have to use "view posts since last visit" and sort through 3-6 pages of "pulp poker" to find 1 or 2 gems. If it is programmable you could also label the suggested posts with a different color when "viewing posts since last visit" so they stand out against the crowd of posts.
What do you think? do you like it? do you not like it? suggestions? |
