I wrote the below letter to support about a softare design problem that causes bets to be an incorrect amount, and instead of being helpful they suggested I post it here and in one other form:

Dear Fulltilt,

I think you have a serious design error in your software that can
cause a player to bet a different amount then the player intends to
bet. I have only played no limit at Fulltilt, therefore, that is the
only place I can be certain that the problem exists.

When it is a player’s turn to act a box comes up in the lower left
corner of the table. The box offers several options. It offers
“min”, ‘pot”, and “max”, additionally directly below those options an
amount is placed inside a box, offering the player an amount to bet.
If a player types in a number without deleting the amount already in
the box then said player bets an amount that is different then they
intended to bet. For example; if the box has an 8 in it, meaning the
player would bet $8, and that player wants to bet $25 he must delete
the $8 prior to entering the $25. If said player just types in 25
then that player actually bets $825 – because the 8 is already inside
the box.

I have made this error several times, and I know many others who have
also had this happen. It would be much better if the box did not
have any number in it, thereby letting the player type in the exact
amount he intends to bet.

Thank you for your consideration.

no, deleting it can be done. however fulltilt seems to have the best software in the market. when i am multitabling why should they choose a number for me, and then i must delate that number and then bet the amount i want? it leads to mistakes and they should fix it.

i suppose that is a good point. When playing with multitablers they always slow the game down. this might be one way of reducing that slightly.
the problem itself does not bother me as i don't multitable NL, but i suppose already putting a numbe in there for you is kind of pointless.
