This is a request for Full Tilt to have even lower micro limit tables like Pokerstars.
First off, Full Tilt is my favorite site to play on. The graphics are better, I like the way I am always at the bottom of the screen and the note taking abilities are better here. On top of that, the players are genrally better here.
Due to my wife being 8 months pregnant, I am unable to invest alot of money into poker right now, so I decided to deposit the minimum. I was doing well for a few days until I had three days in a row of bad beats. I soon came to realize if all I had to invest right now was $50, that playing .05/.10 was too high for that BR.
So I looked around the web and found that pokerstars has .01/.02 and .02/.05 ring games. So I withdrew from my FT account and play on PS, and I'll need to continue doing that until I can build my BR to over $200. But I really want to return here. So please, look into adding lower micro limit tables. |

| It will take a while, but I left here with $25 about a week ago and am up to over $40 now and I plan on putting another $50 in this weekend, so hopefully, if I continue to play well, I can be back here exclusively by October/November. |

Joey -
Be very careful at the Micro Limits -- any where, but esp. at Poker Stars. I lost consistently there at those levels. I also lost at those levels here, but much more slowly. And, didn't start actually winning with some regularity until I moved up in limits.
The problem with micro limits is that while they are cheap, which is good for small BR, the very fact that they are cheap means that bad players are going to always stay in until the river. If you get more than half the players at one table who are bad, you are probably going to lose money.
Just a thought. |

At the micros (ring games), I look for the most loose/aggressive tables...sit and wait.... Only play really good hands. You don't make a lot, but if you're patient, you will come out ahead. If you want to play more loose, you have to be pretty aggressive and find a passive table. Still....be careful. |

I always wonder how some of you are unable to beat the "bad" players who consistently get their money in with the worst of it, yet somehow do better if you move up in levels. |

There's actually a fairly easy explanation to this. First, with "bad" players..ones that are sticking around with lesser starting hands and making calls that mathematically they shouldn't, it's much harder to put them on a hand and know when you're beat. Your 'good' starting hand is a lot less likely to win against 3 other hands that stick around than one other 'good' hand that you may be able to predict more easily.
If you're up against a generally more predictable range of starting hands, and feel better that the ones that miss the flop aren't going to stick through the river calling large bets, it's easier to know when your hand is good and when it's beat.
In other words, you are playing your own cards, and not the opponent / opponent's cards. |
