I think your aggression here was well-warranted. I can see how you thought you had the best low draw, because once garles caught the K and Q, you pretty much had a lock on the low (if you made it). You see, once you developed that low draw with your 4-5-6-7, you were drawing to 16 outs (four aces, four deuces, four treys, and four 8's) overall, and with only one of those outs (the trey) taken by garles, you were in pretty good shape to get at least half the pot, if not, the whole pot should you make the straight.

I believe that I would have played this hand the same way you did, since the odds (I don't know exactly what they are) were in your favor.

EDIT: I love reading HHs about the Hi/Low games because it's a great change of pace from all the Hold Em, so if you have any more you have questions for, PLEASE put them up here because I not only enjoy them, but I will do my best to give you an in-depth answer.

I've just started trying to learn how to play Stud Hi/Lo and that hand was from my first session ever playing Stud Hi/Lo, which was Sunday night. So as I go over my history I'm sure I'll have more questions. Thanks for the help.

i'm with KGB. i love H/L games, and play them often in home games, but rarely have a chance to play online (bankroll won't allow the variance). i think your play overall on the hand is fine. i like pushing aggressively when you have a very good draw, which is exactly what you had. after 4th you have 7 cards to make you a straight, a backdoor flush draw, with a bunch of low cards to hit to make your low. i like pushing aggressively and even like the capping bet after gnarls re-raised on 5th. i think in that spot, you just got the bad end of the deck come your way. in games like stud and stud h/l players have to maximize value from their hands and extract the most amount of bets they can. better luck next time.
