This isn't a bad beat, just a frustration. I raise preflop w/ 99. I get two callers. flop is 7 high rainbow, so I'm betting. turn is 8. river is Q. I was betting the whole way, no raises just calls, usually it's a person staying for a draw or a small pocket pair, when the river was a blank I bet again and just got called. Guy turns over AA.

About 4 minutes later I get JJ. There's a raise preflop w/ two callers. I'm in the BB so I re-raise. the original raiser and the first caller stay around. flop is 9 high. I bet, get both callers, turn is a blank 7, I bet out a pot sized bet and get quick called. at this time I was worried. The river is a 3 blank, I check the guy pushes all in for about 1/10th of the pot. So I call to pay him off, of course he had AA.

Been there... I remember way back I had built a $300 bankroll and lost it all on one hand...

KA

KK93A

I made nice bets each round and went all in on the river... of course he flipped over AA.

That was my first experience in NL and I will say that I enjoy Limit just a bit better... less pressure on me as I learn the game. (I'm up $290 in 4 days so far in the $1/$2 games)

It was 2 years ago before I knew all these things... I had extra cash and thought I was good enough to make some quick money. I was wrong. I had a bad beat and tilted. Yeah, it happens. Very Happy

I came back to Poker a few months ago and after reading up on do's and don'ts I decided to start playing for real money again. I've had great success playing Limit and honestly I think NL is just a bit too much pressure for me.

As I said I'm up $290 playing Limit the last couple days, $150 of which was made in about 6 hours this afternoon. I may go back to NL at some point but for now I'm playing Limit. I seem to play better.
