Hi Guys,
I'm here in the FTP Lounge waiting for Riddum to show up. Silver chains and white sunglasses right? The Gaming Life Expo started today and it is wild!!!! Seems like every online poker site is giving away a car and has a booth full of boobie-babes (i.e., girls with boobs bigger than mine )
But I did get to meet David Tuchman of Live at the Bike! Super sweet guy and he invited me to play at the Bike table tomorrow!!! They're going to broadcast live from the Rio so this should be awesome (looks like I'm dipping into the credit card to play...don't try this at home kids).
I also went to the Poker Player's Alliance Rally. It sounds like we all have a long, uphill battle to climb to beat this bill in the Senate. I'll write more about that later.
Anyway...I'm off to get a beer and to look for Riddum. Funs times continue here at the RIO |

Saturday was a blast!!!
I went to the Gaming Expo when it opened and ended up playing SnGs with Antonio Esfandiari and Phil Laak at the booth called Pro-Tek. The company designs these new poker tables with computer screens embedded in the table. No dealer, no chips. Just 10 people who sit around these touch-screens and play cards. I'm not sure I liked the technology (the ambiance was lost), but it was fun playing with the pro's. Phil Gordon stopped by and told Phil Laak that he got his main event start day mixed up. Gordon thought he started on Saturday and when get got to the Rio, he looked at his seat card and realized he started on Sunday. Sheesh-if I was lucky enough to play the main event, I would have the date, time, table and seat number tattoo'ed on my butt!
After the SnGs I played David Tuchman heads-up at the Live at the Bike booth. Once I find out when they will air it, I'll let you guys know (for everyone who subscribes). I had him for the first 4 hands then I got AdKd on the button. I raised 4xBB and Tuch called. The flop came 4 to the flush (9d-rage-Jd) and I think I checked (?). David bet the pot and I called him. He started asking me "Do you have a piece of that flop?!? Do you have a Jack? I knew he DIDN't have the Jack at that point and with 2 overcards and the nut flush draw, my money was going all-in. No help came on the turn or the river and David crippled me. The next hand I got 88 and they didn't hold up to his A-rag and I lost the battle. But it was fun.
I met Riddum on Friday night. Sweet kid but I couldn't hang with him too long as I had some writing gigs to go to. But I gave him my monorail pass so he could get around the Strip for cheap. He starts today and I'm headed to the Rio to see if I can find him (out of the 2000 people in day 1C).
More later guys! |
