Anyone watch the WSOP circuit last night on ESPN??
I finally saw a Donkey in person, it was some 22 yr old college kid from Texas. He was sitting at a table with Jen Harman and a few other pros.
He was making the typical donkey plays as online players do to suck out expect this was a live tourney! He sucked out on some guy who had trip Q by calling him to the river to catch his gut draw.
AQ vs KJ flop Q 9 rag....turn Q....river 10. The guy wanted to kill him. The worst of all was another hand though where he crippled another player. Gets QJ pre-flop...calls a raise. Flop 8 8 6...guy with pocket 2 raises...he calls!!! not even a draw. Turn 7...bigger raise then a call!! River Q...I thought the guy was going to kill him!! His excuse to check calling to the river..."I was going to try and steal on the river".
They were tooling on this kid, the whole table was making fun of him. You could tell even the pros were getting irritated by his play. One guy called him "rivermaker".
Best part was that he actually thought he was good, he said he was not scared of any pros and could take any pro on!! hahaha it was a truely typical donk!!

| Were the other people at the table short stacked? If so there is a theory out there that someone posted, i can't remember who, about how the cards punish the short stack, something about getting good cards and getting sucked out on cause you are short stack or something like that, to try and move the tournament along. Maybe it's true in live poker too. j/k shweta!! 8) |

No, the 22 guy was pretty short stacked...but still...he wasn't THAT short stacked.
You know what though, you are right. After watching that last night, it really made me reconsider my theory.
You throw a couple of kids like that at a table, behind the comfort of their home, I can understand all the bad beats online now.
I guess it took a donkey at a live table to open my eyes |

| Yeah, he sucked he called a bet on the turn with QJ against a guy with 22, only to catch the Q on the river. He said that he was going to steal the pot on the river because he sensed the other guy was weak. He was bad. |
