So lately I've been on really bad run of LUCK. I'm sure it's not me lacking skill...atleast these last few times. Today at my local casino, it's a bounty tourney, I love these. I usually double up my buy in just through the bounties.
Today: I get 3 3 2nd UTG. blinds were 50/100 I have 2150 in chips, I raise it to 350 preflop. I get one caller. A guy who I know is a pretty solid player, not afraid to make moves. He just knocked a weaker player out and had around 5000 chips. Also, he is one of the two other guys at the table whose game I actually respect.
flop Q Q 5
I bet 500. He thinks for a second and raises to 1500. I think for a long time, studying him, and the hand so far. I'm thinking if he had AQ or QK he'd let me build his pot for him. He wouldn't play QJ or worse calling a raise preflop. If he had 55 he'd let me bet for him as well. He could have a higher pp, but I didn't think he did. So I push all in for an extra 300 more. He has an easy call. When I pushed I was sure he had AJ,KJ, AT, AK. So I knew he had 9 outs. 6 of whatever his cards were and 3 5's to counterfit my two pair. He turns over K J . And says "Damn, I was just trying to buy it." I reply "I know"
turn 7
Now I just say "AWWW F*CK" most people at the table are wandering why since I'm still ahead. I said it because now he has 19 outs. 3 7's and 7 spades. can't count the Q or 3 of spades because I get a boat. so 10 plus the other 9.
river 8
I make a huge call and once again am not rewarded. This is how it's been the last 8 times I've played at a tourney. I make a huge decision that happens to be right, just to lose to runner, runner or a less then 10 card out.
Just venting. I know I made the right play and eventually I'll come out on top, but now my BR for live tourneys is pretty much depleted for the month after not making any huge mistakes. All of my mistakes only really cost me a small portion of my chips, which was kind of nice.
Thanks for reading if you did. |
