At the WSOP press conference, a reporter asked WSOP commissioner Jeffrey Pollack if it compromised the integrity of the WSOP to let a chimp play. Pollack claimed that he had heard nothing about it, and this was his reply.
"Let me be clear. There is no chimpanzee registered for the Main Event, nor will there be."
I think it's ridiculous that Good Morning America and every other news outlet on the planet ran with the story without checking the facts with the WSOP first. But I guess it's just another sign of the report first, fact-check second era media era we live in ... |

I think we are missing a golden opportunity here. I can just see the monkey, Matusow and Hellmuth at the same table and all 3 of them go **** at the same time...
And if Hellmuth loses to the monkey, he would tell everyone the monkey didnt know how to play.
I would pay $10 to see them play on a pay per view.

I wish they would have let him play.
Just think of the hilarity if he would have busted out Hellmuth or Matusow and Helmuth complained about what a terrible player Mikey was !
