Perhaps should've waited to make sure a safe card came off on the turn before becoming fully invested...but with a raise and a call behind me after the flop, I thought, screw it--these guys are behind but are interested in their hands, so regardless of what they're drawing to, they're gonna have to pay the max to catch up. Really fortunante to run into both an underset and the nut flush draw, I guess.

I can practically hear the happy strains of "Those were the days" from All in the Family... Very Happy

I wouldn't have even stayed in for that hand... especially with a raise.

You have more discipline than I, then, to lay down kings for a raise of 3x the BB when you have already posted 1 BB and have several calls in front of you. Very Happy

(Not implying your wrong by any means, just that you have more discipline than I!)

Dunno if it's mathematically wrong or not Razz Just don't like how the only flush draw would be 9 high, no straight possibilities (unless you could 9 to K whch has a 3 card gap), and the only hope was for trip K or 2-pair leading to full house.

For sure. It was one of those "Gee I have a high pair!" hands that looks better than it actually plays. Not any decent redraws, as you said--it was a "no set no bet" situation that one really doesn't want to get into in Omaha, especially when there's a preflop raise, and especially in early position. It worked out well--really well--in this particular situation but probably isn't going to be a winner over the long haul. Point taken! Very Happy
