It's been interesting to say the least. I am a steady player at Poker Stars. I plunked down my $50 here because the site had HORSE and Razz.
I kept trying to register for a HU HORSE and there was at first only a table that was in play. When they finished, the table remained and though I would select a HORSE 0/2 line in the main lobby, it would take me back to that table which was by now completed. Some time later when I clicked again, I got the game (table) lobby with no registration button. I gave up.
I played a Razz ring game which was fun; I'd never played before.
Then I took a break. Came back a couple of hours later and everything was working fine. I played HU Horse and lost, and then I did it again and lost. Then I played HU Omaha High which I win 3 out of 4 times at Poker Stars regularly. I lost. I played HU Horse again and lost.
This is not a bad beat complaint (I hate those.) But I must say, that I have never, ever, had such consistently bad cards as I've had on this site. By the end it was quite funny really. I didn't lose because I played badly (I'm not a bad player.) I lost because I simply couldn't play 90% of the hands I got (I'm no rock either!). And the cards were bizarrely bad through all the levels of Horse. I've never seen anything like it and I've played Party (which I dislike for lots of other reasons), Absolute, Titan, and Doyles Room, Paradise, and Pacific Poker. So, I'm not merely comparing this experience to PS play.
Anyway, this has been quite an experience. When my money is gone, as it seems it will be gone in short order, I won't be re-upping. In fact, in the Razz game someone said that PS is going to add HORSE and Razz. |

I play a lot on Stars as well, and gave Tilt a try for the first time last Wednesday.
I think one day is far too short a time to judge a site as far as the cards go. I have had a two great days, and two bad days so far here.
On some blog I read once, the guy referred to a phenomenon called "the auto-lose button", where no matter what you do, or how you play your cards, you just aren't going anywhere but down on a particular site.
I'm enjoying Tilt for the site differences, Razz and Horse, and the forum. I know that somedays my auto-lose button will be on, just as it is on Stars some days, but that's just poker. If I lose 10% of my bankroll on either site, I'm done for the day; it just wasn't meant to be. There's always tommorrow. |

| Let me start by saying that I'm glad you tried Full Tilt. Many who come here claim that the cards they first receive are too hot, and then they cool off. Perhaps you are a counterexample to that stereotype, and perhaps you'll get hot as you continue to play. The players here at Full Tilt don't forget are consistently rated better than those of PokerStars, so the rise in level of play could have something to do with your downswing. Good luck! |

I came back to the site the next day and all was well -- normal interface behavior. Played a little Razz -- then gave HORSE another try.
Have come to the conclusion that the freak cards on the first day was some sort of initiation! lol
AND, my first post did not in anyway comment on losing; it was on not being able to play because the cards were so bad. So the quality of players here or at PS was never an issue.
I got quite ordinary cards on my second day. I am much relieved.
So, thought I would let you all know that my first day phenomenon was just that -- a phenomenon! (BTW I won the second day HORSE SNG.)
Thanks for the forum -- I look forward to reading it.
Cheers! |

You guys will like Full Tilt in comparison to Poker Stars: the skill level here is a little higher, without all the total fish swimming around, thinking they can do what Moneymaker and Raymer did just by playing poker online; the pros here are infinitely more helpful - I played $2/$4 Stud with Perry Friedmann and learned a few invalueable lessons as a result (I was encouraged when I took a pot off of him, and then he took three off of me); the interface is very easy to navigate, even easier than the Poker Stars page; the freerolls just pay straight-up cash instead of making you jump through hoops (and even the pros play in them); and the graphics and overall appearance of the place is more aesthetically pleasing. The new software is fantastic.
Yes, Stars is releasing an update that contains Razz and HORSE ring games - I'm testing it. It sucks. A HORSE ring game is psychotic, and the mental wear and tear of it just isn't worth it. HORSE should be kept a tournament-structure format. And their introducing it now, when they've been around for five years or so, just proves how behind the times they really are. Full Tilt is where it's at - it's the site for the modern player, and it's always to par with the wants and needs of it's population.
Enjoy the site!
