| Phil Ivey was just sitting at the 200-400 Limit Hu table with 20g. He is at this moment playing in the Omaha hi-lo final day at the WSOP in 2nd place...What am I missing? |

I was just thinking that Phil Ivey wouldn't be interested in using a short break to play online. I guess it was probably him though. |

I'd think that too. That's hardcore.
Someone in the forum did mention that FTP had a lounge, complete with computers and internet access, set up for their players. |

| But still, you'd think he woudl want to use the break as a break rather than keep playing. If I were him, I couldn't look at cards anymore for he played so damn long. That's really weird. |

| It's not unusual in the least. Many players (such as Doyle) have been known to go play in side games while dinner break was going on. I'd imagine that it would keep you mentally sharp while you have your dinner, rather than taking an hour or 90 minutes off and then try to get your mind back on playing poker. |

I tend to think that he's just a gambler. I envision him, playing in a big game on Full Tilt on a Pocket PC, DURING a live game. |

| I was listening to the march 5, '06 episode of "The Circut" yesterday. E-dog was talking about being a degenerate gambler and how Ivey was even worse. |

Recently I read an interview with Ivey (no idea how old it was) where he said that he was going to only focus on tourneys that have 1st place paying over 1 mil because he can win/loose a million a day in side games and he was having a hard time keeping focused on low prize pool MTT.
Then there was the comment by Ivey during either the Aussie millions or the Monte Carlo on TV where he said he needs to finish 2nd just to break even on his side game losses during the tourney.
I could easily see him walking around with a wi-fi tablet pc or laptop playing almost every moment he has available. Especially if there is no live high stakes side games he can just jump online and drop $20k on a table and try to double up while eating his dinner.

I've also read that Scott Fishman does this too... |
