since the thread about 'rounders' got so much response, i was curious as to how the community felt about the mini-series 'tilt.'
i generally liked it but thought it cast a big shadow over most B&M games in Las Vegas. I know its fiction but still prolly wasnt a good idea to hurt one of the biggest growing games in america. puts that shadow of doubt in your mind about ring games and the WSOP. |

| I think it was real bad for poker and Erik Seidel agreed with me 100% but did the cameo in one of the episodes for fun because of the actors in the movie. I think it was a cool series for enjoyment but a lot of people took it too far. There's now more cheaters and colluders than there ever was in the game of online and live poker. If you watch it for enjoyment, I like it a lot and it's fun but too many people took it way too far. |

i think it helped a lot of otherwise honest, clueless, bad players learn how to cheat in home games by teaming up and splitting profits
also the acting and storyline sucked, mainly the part i enjoyed was the WSOP, they shouldve had more reality looking segments like tournaments, hellmuth made that show enjoyable, but they needed him on longer, and more poker pros to appear in the show |

| i thought the show was great... yes, it casts that shadow of doubt on the WSOP superstars, but the show had some pretty good storylines along w/ some fun hands to watch (even though the hands they show usually only occur in online poker, lol) |

| The show was just ok. As far as showing people how to cheat, cheating has been going on since the begining of competative events, and it's the reason why there's a burn card before turning over a card. Also casino's take great measure's to eliminate cheating and signals by players. As long as they dont know what my cards are I'm not going to get overly worried about a player signalling another if he is holding a hand or not, why? because they still have to guess what I have and beat it. |

I would say its much more likely teaming up occurs on the internet. Thats why I never play at private tables (tables with there own name or requiring a password) like they have at party poker, etc.
During play you often see someone jump in and announce a password to a private table. Use you head, why would a person do this unless it's to draw in people so they can team up against them.
It's like anything else, you have to pay attention to whats going on around you, and if it doesnt feel right leave and find another table or another site. There's no shortage of them. |
