wondering if anyone can shed some light on a helpful
strategy for freerolls.

Myself think they are a waste of time as I can predict for the
first 20-30 mins of play, there is wild betting with very average picture cards.

If there is any player who has won one of these or come close, is this just a luck strategy or was there actual poker play that you would find at a ring game?

I won a 2700 person $100 freeroll a few years ago when I was building my bankroll. You're right that the first 20-30 minutes are crazy with wild all-ins who are looking for an early big stack. During the time, it seemed that there were many more freerolls than there are now, so people can keep on going all-in on the first hand, and load up another tournament right away. Nowadays, it seems like there are less freerolls, although I could be wrong. With fewer opportunities to play, I would imagine that players would be a little more serious, which should help a good player.

Freerolls in my opinion are just play money games with a small monitary award for winning. I think the closest thing you will see to real money game play is when its down to the final 9 or heads up. This is correct in about 90% of freerolls I have ever attended. To build a bankroll off of freerolls you MUST be really good, but also REALLY REALLY REALLY LUCCCCCCCCCKY!!!!! & also, is what a luck strategy????

simple fold more and track what they play as it pops up and what position they play when it happin's you can avoid super aggressive players when the blinds are small till you can get a range of hands they play. and then play tigher ..remember things like flush is 25% of the deck and everyone plays them, play higher flushs jack high or better and if you nutted the flush and the board paired or paired twice and a player isnt afraid ..then chances are he hit the boat the more people are in a hand the tighter you need to play if you are hitting hands and no one raised and a raggy flop hits pot bet the flop 2 out of 3 times no one hits a flop ..if you gett a raise or an oddly fast or slow call backoff they might have hit..if not you won some free blinds for the next go around. if you raise before a fold raise after..if you check better have the nuts or there teeth will show and they will re raise

i like a push every hand strategy Very Happy

you either get knocked out straight away which is fine seeing as you havent lost any time or money or you can build a monster stack and can then change and play a good tight aggressive game and will probably get alot of action from people seeing you push every hand

even with a monster stack you will need alot of luck
