I had a go at a $5 sng today. And after 3 ppl got knocked out I find myself in a situation I'm not sure how to handle.

At the moment I was thinking re-raise all-in. In most cases it's a coin-flip right, vs AK,AQ and KQ, if he got a better pp I'm doomed but if he got an A with a lower kicker I'm in pretty good shape.

But then again, I have almost 15 BB, so I'm not really desperate now am I? There will be other opportunities I'm sure..

Other options is call, hope for another J on the flop, as if it was any other low pp. Fold, play the cautious way into the bubble. or raise just a little, to say 520.

I don't have much a read on the aggressor at the time. Just that I'm sure he'll call since he knocked out most of the others after all.

There are 2 ways to look at this one is the classic "beware of the min raise" or the MP player is just using his position and stack to steal the blinds. I am more apt to think it's the latter. That being the case I'm going to raise here the ? is how much. Any meaningful raise is going to be 25-30% of my stack, with over 1700 chips left I would be putting him to the test only with a shove. I shove here hoping for a fold or a race situation with AJ+. I don't see him calling with a lesser pair tho I have seen some pretty odd plays at the $5 and $10 SnG's.

Another reason for the shove here in my opinion is if he calls and loses I am now the chip leader and can better pick my spots. I play for first and the bubble be damned, everybody at the table has an M>10 so your not playing for the bubble yet.

At this point in the SnG many people are playing way too tight just trying to get 3rd and people in Mid to Late position will raise with any 2 til someone gets the balls to stand up to them. IF YOU EVER FIND ME IN A SnG WITH YOU AND i RAISE LATE PLEASE DISREGARD THIS LAST PARAGRPH AND JUST FOLD Laughing

I think a three bet here is pretty mandatory. The decision is to shove or just raise.

To make your three bet worthwhile it needs to be min. 750. If the other player was similary stacked I think I might just three bet and fold to a shove as it would still leave you with ~1000 chips. which will be enough to still steal blinds with and build your stack back up.

Against this villain I think I would shove though. The reason being that with his huge stack a regular three bet might not be enough to scare him off. And with JJ I am happy to just take this down now. As opposed to AA or KK where I would rather have him put his money in the pot then I would shove flop no matter what.

This is a tricky spot where the following questions arise:

- Does he do this often?
- I see he has a huge stack in addition to the oher players and maybe he is using it.
- Previous hands he played? Opening range for a raise?
- Did he become chip leader with rather loose or tight play?
- How many flops has he seen

A min raise can be played to put a little pressure on the other players. Just for a few moments and they get tired of it and take a stand by reraising and then he comes up with a big hand???

Shoving is best imo

Favorite: QJ, KJ, AJ and lower, TJ, KT, K9, QT and pp <JJ
flipping with AK, AQ, KQ
underdogg to: AA - KK - QQ.

And if you shove with JJ his hand needs to be at least better than yours for a call. Just go for it and shove it in. If he has AA - KK - QQ so be it.
Because if you just call and no over come on the flop, you'll shove anyway unless overcards come on the flop.

i shove because he has a lot of chips. so he's likely loose considering it's only 40/80.

with QQ+, i make it 700 and shove all flops.

No sense in waiting, as you won't see a better spot than JJ vs a big stack throwing his chip lead around.

Try to double up here, and put the pressure on the 3 players with M ~10 to improve your chances of getting ITM.
