I think that there a lot of people that either run good or grind out just enough bankroll to move up in stakes. What happens next is usually one of two things.

1. They think they are better than they are. {I just crushed .05-.10 look out .10-.25 here I come} Cool They slowly lose more often than they win and think, "I am better than this, what is going on here". Without realizing they are even playing a bit looser due to the confidence boost they got from moving up. This effect is even multiplied if they have a couple winning sessions right after moving up.

2. Varience smacks them in the face. They have moved up a bit too early. just barely enough bankroll to be playing the stakes. The losses are larger amounts of money. (micro and small stakes players invariably end up looking at how much money they are winning and losing rather than the number of big blinds) Pride helps stop them from quickly moving back down in stakes for a while, and suddenly they are down 1/2 to 3/4 of their BR)

These two things, either together or one on its own lead them to the conclusion that things are not right and things must be rigged.

I know there are other factors such as number of hands, and playing against much looser players online than in a B&M that have been discussed over and over, but I have not seen these aspects talked about much so I thought I would throw my two cents out.

Hope this helps someone and GL at the tables.

This actually happens to traders as well I believe. It's very difficult to avoid. These activities require a lot of discipline and nerves of steel.

Very good post. Since I am a micro player myself, what would be a good target BB/100 to have? Read a lot of different things about it online and such but never really saw a solid answer for playing multiple tables at once. For this month I have just under 15k hands and I play three tables at once. What would be considered good?
