Usually there is a connector on your laptop you can plug an external monitor into. Most people do not connect to another computer to share a monitor.

VGA might be what you're looking for. If it is a newer computer it may have HDMI ports.

Ok i used the HDMI port to get my laptop linked to my tele, however - i don't know how to link it to my other PC?
And, how do i set it up so the tele becomes an extra screen rather than just mirrors whats on my laptop screen but bigger?

Doesn't make sense.
Are you trying to link your laptop to your desktop to (say) share information? If so you'll need a switch, router or go the simplest route and use a crossover ethernet cable.
If you're just trying to link your laptop to two monitors (one being the tele) then you'll need a couple of video cables, set your OS for multi-screens and set the individual screen resolutions. Btw, make sure the tele is not CRT or Plasma. If you intend using the laptop screen as one of the monitors, forget it. You'll get tennis neck within an hour. |

the tele is big enough so that i could just use the one screen, but i set it up wrong last time so that a tables took up the same proportion of room on the tele as they did on laptop so i could see anymore tables than normal - they were just bigger.

Tele can be 50 foot wide... doesn't matter. What matters is the max resolution of the tele and the max resolution of the computer's video card.
