This post is regarding poker ...gud player vs Donks.
I know people say poker's not Luck but strategy.
They say if you play best game in the long run...no matter what ..you'll be the winner taking the odds into consideration.
But I'm thinking that this statement should be put this way.
If you play the best game in the long run WITH ONE DONK PLAYER you'll be the winner taking the odds into consideration.
At least, I'm thinking of it this way considering I always ...either double up or ship out my stack to the donks....
For some reason (not logical) I feel, usually the first bunch of hands with donks ...they suck out and win.....and it is up to YOU whether you survive those attacks and then start exploiting them. it is up to the donk if he still sits at the same table and is willing to lose the looooot he just made.
If the player decides to get up and another donk starts playing you...I think your math starts back from zero. (like the reading meter has been reset) Again there are as many suck outs and then you sitting there wondering about whether you were really sitting there losing all the buyins.
But I guess it is all just variance and me just tilting.
Sorry, but I am not at all clear on my thoughts....just don't waste your time reading this bs......sorry.

| You can play against a table with 8 bad players, but you'll need a bigger bankroll and the mental ability to handle the wider swings. |

The way to think about these things is to think of yourself as the casino in a game such as craps.
In the short run the casino can lose a ton of money on a craps table, but in the long run they always win because they are on the right side of mathematical expectation.
There is no resetting to 0 involved...it is all part of the same long game. The casino doesn't start each day with a "zero" probability that goes up or down, it starts, and ends, each day with a positive long-term expectations. However over a given short period of time the casino could be down money because of variance.
I suppose you could argue that against random bad players your expectation would be lower at the beginning of a session than it would be once you learn something about their playing style. But I don't think a reset to 0 is in order. |
