Early in game, this guy's played every hand and has showed kind of weakish hands - am I supposed to limp with this hand rather than raise and hope to set? I guess I could check flop but I hate just checking. I find leading wins me the pot a good portion of the time if opponent isn't holding an A -- he can then put me on AK or something... I don't know.

Also, should I be betting the turn or river or is it OK to shut down after his call on the flop. His call, I'm assuming some kind of weak Ace.

Ditto to Flying_Kiwi.
The PFR is fine
Hes not folding with an A or 2
With the turn bet hes saying I got a little something.
No need in risking any more chips IMO

thanks - so you agree with preflop raise here - rather than limp... and a c-bet even when an ace hits?

Most certainly
Also agree with shutting it down and calling him down on turn and river if he had bet like he did on turn
Might fold to a shove but he didnt do that.
With a guy thats playing lots of hands you want to raise or fold never limp.
He's gonna call with his crap and you get more value with a raise.

Yes. Limping is terrible and c-betting when the ace hits is great because if they don't have an ace it'll be hard to continue - and a lot of the time they won't have an ace.

PS: took him out later in the tournament... and he did have A-5 os in that particular hand. He wasn't the best player ever.

played it fine, you should def be raising that hand most of the time, slowplaying jacks can just lead to disaster.
