I just watched the "Guide To No-Limit Cash Games" video, and I see it still uses the classic lobby. I haven't seen the others, but I assume they're in the same state. Are there plans to update it to the new lobby before the classic lobby goes away?  |

I thought of that too.
It'd be nice to make new videos to showcase all the great filtering options...unfortunately, it would mean redoing these videos. Considering pros have a limited amoutn of time, I'd much rather see new video about actual content (playing the blinds, when to bet, etc.), rather than short little "nothing" informercial videos advertising the types of tourneys/cash games available on FTP.
One thing they could stick in there is a video on dealmaking. It'd be great to explain the basics of ICM, although I don't know that I want too many people actually understanding it, because it would be educating people, which is -EV for me... |

Well, maybe not entirely (about half the video I saw was table play, which hasn't changed much), but you make a good point. I imagine getting them in for voice work might not be the easiest thing, but OTOH, you don't really want outdated info... it's confusing (among other things). It's probably a good thing to keep around for the extreme noobs, especially since there's not a whole lot of documentation on how to really use the lobby (at least, not that I've ever found).

Yeah, that'd be nice. It's something that probably a lot of people don't know about or properly understand. Teaching them about it would probably help prevent players getting royally screwed, at the very least.

I bet not. The funny thing about teaching people things is that for every person that really learns something, there's like ten that think they learned something. They might not get royally screwed anymore, but they can't or won't put that information to its full use. Overall, it's a net +EV.  |
