For starters, you can do your windows updates. I am guessing you are way behind |

| I had this same issue on a brand new Vista machine I setup recently. The updater had only brought down about 6 megs of a 30 meg install. I deleted the partial download, downloaded again making sure it downloaded all of the setup program and then it worked correctly. |

| Not be a complete disk or anything, but WTF are you doing running a beta OS as your primary OS on one computer, let alone 2? |

My computer freezes every time I'm in a tournament! I am far from a computer expert and have uninstalled and reinstalled several times. I have closed every other application and it continues?????
I was reading the above comments and I'm not sure what any of it means?
I have a HP TouchSmart with Vista... HELP!
I have a tournament to play tonight and I'm not sure how I'll manage.
I have emailed FT several times with no luck. |

Did you allow...the 'update' it said it had...to go through?
I did....and it completely messed everything up!
The 'update' itself....is the cause.
It's as dodgy as hell.
Please remove (all) traces.......of Program.....from computer.
Then Start....again.
GO BACK ....to the 'Old Version'! (If you can find it again!)
After 3 days...of 'trial-n-error'( w/only 'computer-generated replies'...from FTP! the whole time!)....that's 'how'I found out what I had to do!
To help you all out, here what I do with....my computer...
Firstly, I created a Folder (on the Desk-top).
I call it "My Installs".
(How oribinal, but, very self-explanatory!)
Now, having done that......ANY/ALL Program I download......can go into it!
Via the "Save" option....when downloading.
You will get a 'pop-up window'..when you do so.
(It will probably List.......'Desktop'...in the Bar-window w/arrow. DON'T use it, but click 'arrow'...to get a further LISTING....of 'Desktop'.)
SELECT what-else ('My Installs')........then, Proceed..........with download!
Now , you will most certainly have........a complete download!......you can use time and time again! No more chasing web-sites....to FIND it again!
An even better thing to do,is, ....to Keep it (all your downloads) updated!
As new as possible!
You can collect a nice collection, this way.
If you're smart enough to do so.........ALSO 'burn' that colection.....to CD/DVD .......for safe keeping! |

Im having some issues running FTP on win7. It takes a while for win7 to bring up the FTP lobby (goes thru "connected" phase, then the "site found waiting for reply" phase) then it hangs for a good 30 secs b4 allowing me to enter username/pass. Once i click enter, it takes another 20-30 secs to bring up the lobby and again hangs b4 loading the tables.
Once all the tables come up, FTP hangs every now n then for a good 20-30 secs.
Anyone else have similar issues? On my XP system, FTP works perfectly fine.
HELP. |

| I'm having the same problem with the latest FTP client on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 RTM. Apparently it's not compatible with Win7 yet (it worked fine on Vista Ultimate x64 SP2 however) and the workaround for now is to run the program in compatibility mode for Windows 98/Windows ME (didn't try NT4 or 2000 though). |

| Solution - stop pirating your OSes. If you really want a free OS that badly, learn Linux. |

| Try opening IE and go to Tools...Internet Settings...Connections...LAN Settings and unchecking the Automatically Detect Settings box. This fixed the problem for me |
