+1 to PinkShark's sentiments regarding low stakes players. That ranking IS important to us!

One last comment:
To me it looks more like Pokerstars outdid FTP in regards to advertisement deals, so FTP decided to revenge...
Hope that's not the case but looks like it at least from my limited point of view. |
Guarantee something like this is the REAL reason behind it.
You can bet your sweet --- money is behind it all.
Either Sharkscope has bribed FTP or they are in a beef with OPR about advertisement revenues or a combination of both. If Sharkscope isn't banned too I have no doubt its payola.
Like i said before thay gotta cut out sharkscope too.
They also gotta cut out their leaderboard(s) that is a real advantage for others. |

That was my hope... the info in one thread and the info + a poll in another. I suppose I should have just combined them into one, however, being fairly new here I didn't want to put a poll in the "Poker News" section. My bad!

| i would like to know how many idiots sent emails to full tilt requesting this ban. what a joke banning opr but overlooking datamining. imo opr served more as a useful tool for for players to keep track of their results. |

what's wrong with you lately?
there is no need for several threads having the same topic.
if you guys think it's important to have a poll for this, maybe the op or a mod can add a poll to this thread. |

Didn't read all the posts but as someone who uses/used OPR and left myself open to searches I really don't care.
For all of you who hate this idea and are mad as hell I know who you can blame: The players who berate other players with thier stats. |

I'd take you to my chip leader but with OPR down I don't know who to take you to.

I find this very unfortunate.
First of all, isn't Full Tilt being a bit inconsistent about this? After all, they have their own leader boards. They also have ways of highlighting good players. They have their red pros of course. But they also have little iron man icons and FTOPS jerseys that give us a clue that these are better players.
Second, isn't having a general idea of your opponents skill from something besides their play in hands consistent with live poker? Certainly when someone sits down in a WSOP event they will often know if someone at their table is professional because they are familiar with them. They will also know if another player is a novice because they don't know the rules or fumble their chips.
Third, what about all the players that like to see their own stats? Personally, I look up my and my friends stats more then anything else. It is like my own personal scoreboard for keeping track of how I'm doing.
Fourth, what about "fair use"? I'm pretty sure that sports scores, and news are public domain and free for anyone to use. Shouldn't poker results be treated the same? |

The whole "advantage thing" is BS. There is certainly another reason.
Perhaps they are squeezing OPR for some cash since the US froze milllions recently. |

I don't know if anyone has noticed but (and I don't blame them a bit) the premium ad spaces on OPR, which Full Tilt once dominated, are now all filled with Poker Stars advertisements. All that is left for FTP is the small bonus link and OPR bonus code where they make their dollar or two per referral. I think that says a lot about how discussions (if there are any) are proceeding in this matter. Sad, Sad, Sad.
