FTP Answers 10/15
For reference, previous answers thread:
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/28...10-1-a-597430/

New this update:

A. Run It Twice - Most of you already know what this is from live cash games (or TV), but briefly: If there are two players in the hand and there's an all-in and call before the river, and both players have decided to run it twice (there’s a new checkbox in the "permanent checkbox" area of the table), any board cards left to come will be dealt twice, resulting in two boards. Half the pot will go to the winner of the first board and half the pot will go to the winner of the second board.

For now, only NLH, PLO, and HA games in Ivey's Room have Run It Twice enabled. We will likely enable RIT for lower stakes games in the coming weeks.

More info (to be posted in the next couple of minutes) can be found here:

http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/run-it-twice

B. Cashout Tournaments - A totally new type of tournament. If you've ever heard someone say "I wish I could just take these tournament chips and cash out right now," well, now they can. Part (usually half) of your buyin goes to the regular prize pool, but the rest goes to a "Cashout Pool" which gets depleted as people "cash out" of the tournament.

By way of example: Say the buyin is $20 and you start with 1,000 chips. If $10 of the buyin goes to the Cashout Pool, each 100 chips will be worth $1 of the Cashout Pool. At any time throughout the tournament (except the very beginning while people are still registering and the very end) you can cash out part or all of your tournament chips for cash.

More info (to be posted in the next couple of minutes) can be found here:

http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/cashout-tournaments

C. 7-Game Tournaments - By popular demand. And yes, as many people guessed, FTOPS Event #2 is 7-Game.

D. A couple of small things - There's finally an icon for Super Turbo tournaments (a yellow T instead of red). The Last Hand Replayer now shows folded upcards for Stud games in the end state of the hand. More bug fixes, including what we hope is the very last "duplicate cards" issue (where you see your Hold'em hole cards twice, making it look like you got dealt 4 cards). Please let us know if you see that issue again. Or any other issue, for that matter (providing as many details as possible).

Questions:

1. Security Tokens?

- Actual news! Looks like all of the issues have been cleared up and we're good to go. Expect this in the next real update. The price has tentatively been set at 5,000 FTPs, and should also appear in the Iron Man store at a discount. There will also be a way to purchase the token with cash from your account, but the exact process for that hasn't been finalized. The token should show up in the store a little before the feature itself goes live to give people an opportunity to order it a little early. Unless things go catastrophically pear-shaped, we're just a few weeks away now.

2. About Euro accounts: Can you make it so that everyone, not just Euro players, can hold their accounts in Euros or other currencies you offer in the future?

- Nothing is finalized yet, but we're definitely considering all of the options.

3. 4 handed tbls would be the nuts. i know u just said they prob wont even happen for ring games, but is there any reason for this?

- It's just that it's another new game type that would further segment the player base. There are probably some stake games and stake levels that could support it, so it's not out of the question.

4. [one of the players continues to display their last action even when the action is not on them] is still happening...... a lot!

- Yeah, sorry about that. I thought it was fixed, but it turns out it's a more complicated bug than first thought. They're still working on it, but I don't know when it will be fixed.

5. is there any plan to fix the ratio for the mlh games from 1:4 to 1:6? a 20/40 lhe player just doenst have the roll for 5/10nl, and pretty much everyone ive spoken w/ agrees w/ me.

- We're still looking at this. Nothing has been decided yet.

6. why is it that you have system maintenance and when the system comes back online, the cashier is broken?

- We bring the game back up as soon as possible. Often (maybe always at this point) that means the cashier isn't quite ready, so it stays in maintenance mode until it's ready. I think most players would rather they could play quickly without access to the cashier than have us wait until all sub-systems are ready before opening the game back up.

7. can you add a knockout bounty - counter for KO tournaments and SnGs?

- Maybe someday, but it would be a pretty low priority.

8. Can you incorporate an auto hot key feature into the FTP software? Even if its just something as simple as only using F1,F2, and F3 for the fold, check/call, and bet/raise options, it would be tremendously helpful. Especially for limit players!

- We have a few "customize" features like this in the works. This one in particular hasn't seen any love yet, so it would be a good while before it came to light.

9. Can you make the deck used for smaller, re-sized tables available for the default sized tables too?

- Yes, when we have a better set of deck options we'll be sure to let players decide which they want to see at which size. Again, this won't be for a good while.

10. Session Information widget still only reports play money account balance, not real money account balance.

- Is this in the Favorites tab only by any chance? If so, try going back to the Browse tab and seeing if that switches it back to real money.

11. please an option to turn off the sng re-register button after one ends.

- We have a few "advanced user" options, including something like the above, planned for SNGs (and ring games) in the next 2-12 months.

12. It would be convenient if FT could create a clock that you could change to different time zones.

- Planned.

13. I hate having to click ante and big blind/small blind. Any chance you could combine that into one click(post $2.40 for big blind and ante)

- We're thinking of changing all ante tables to be more like speed tables when it comes to posting. Meaning when you sit down you'll be forced to have auto-post on (and be placed in "Wait for BB" mode immediately), then you'll have a "Sit Out Next BB" checkbox instead of the "Auto-Post" checkbox. Anyone not like this idea?

14. I am sure this has been addressed somewhere before, but with the Stars 180 man MTTs being so popular, why does FT offer so few limits for those? The highest you can play is $2.

- We have a roving $8 180 man as well that goes off every 70 minutes. We used to have it as a normal SNG, but it filled too slowly.

15. Does FTP have any plans to extend late registration in MTTs for a full hour at the start

- We have a couple of plans for late reg. One is to allow it to overlap with a break (something we can't currently do), and the other is to publish exactly how many levels late reg will last in the tournament lobby (an oversight when we first implemented late reg). I'm not sure when they'll show up, but once they do we'll definitely start playing around with late reg times some more, including possibly giving a full hour for most guarantees.

16. ummm, the login screen has no text and when i manage to login the lobby is blank.

- Do you use Hold'em Manager by chance? There's a problem with it where it moves your Language files from their directory when it imports hands, thus causing all of the text to be removed from the game. To solve this, change your HEM import settings for Full Tilt to point directly to your HandHistory file instead of the Full Tilt directory. You'll probably have to reinstall the client to get all of the text back as well.

17. Still having trouble with the note writing feature it hides behind table and is hard to actually write anything.

- I believe this is now fixed. Let us know if you're still getting the issue (and include as many details as possible).

18. Any chance you can add an option to convert everything to BBs instead of cash in cash games?

- Unlikely, sorry.

19. $24+2 Matrix tournies?

- Added.

20. how about adding antes in HA games?

- We'll look into it.

21. Add bonuses to the FTP store that can be bought with FTP points IMO.

- No plans for this at the moment.

22. I wrote a long store post a month or two ago, that seems to have gone ignored.

- I gave up trying to answer store questions a while ago. I just don't have much to do with the store and you'll get a much better answer than I could provide by emailing the store folks directly.

23. why do you have women's shorts in the store, but no men's shorts? Aren't most of your customers men?

- Are you saying men don't like women in shorts?

24. Is posting updates on 2+2 the favorite part of your job?

- I'll try to get an answer for you. I don't have a timeline, sorry.

25. PLEASE ADDRESS THE SHORTSTACK PROBLEM!!!!

- This is still in the discussion/planning stages. I know everyone wants something done yesterday, but messing with the poker ecosystem isn't something we take lightly.

26. I love the widgets, but I would like to see them available as windows that we could drag and drop onto our desktop. Customizable widgets would also be a great thing as each player is looking for something a little different.

- We have some distant ideas about allowing widgets to detach, but certainly not anytime soon. We currently have one customizable widget, the Mini-Cashier, which allows you to pick and choose which Cashier fields you want to display in the widget. I'm sure there will be more customizable widgets in the future.

27. tournament tickets in the ftp store

- Probably someday.

28. It is so simple. Make 50% of the tables in the lobby deep tables instead of 10% of them.

- That's not how it works. There's always an empty table of each "type." When someone sits down, a new table appears of that same type. It's entirely up to the players how many tables of each type are running.

29. can we fix the table pop-up issues. It doesn't work consistently. It seems that if I do have a new table open, but haven't been dealt cards, the other tables won't pop-up.

- We've made a couple more modifications to this. Let me know if behaves better for you now.

30. Doug, can you oficially confirm that 'TableScan Turbo' software is allowed tu use whith FTP? As somebody pointed out in TableScan Turbo thread: FTP doesn't have it listed explicitly but if you check their prohibited software page, it fits into categories #3 and #4 of "Currently Allowed for Normal Use"

- I can confirm it is allowed as long as you are only using a database of hands that you participated in. That's the "Normal Use" part.

31. ftp doug, can u say the same? everyone thinks FTP snoops around and monitors what we do while we play.

- I can. We can't take screenshots of your screen and we don't monitor your internet browsing.

32. i keep getting "invalid bet amount" message boxes popping up when the blinds come to me.

- For those of you experiencing this, it'd be really helpful if you could go into more detail describing exactly when it happens, what you're playing at the time, what you're doing, whether you have "lag" at the time, and what other software you might have running. We're trying to get to the bottom of this one but having a lot of trouble reproducing it.

33. Fix the filters. In the standard view, you should be able to filter down to any specific limit and game type, I hate having to see CAP or fixed limit and three limits when I want to play just one limit type.

- I'm confused about this. I'm pretty sure you can do exactly what you're asking to do in Standard View. Have you checked out the Advanced Filters and the Custom stakes?

34. In the advanced filter for cash games, the "minimum pot size" is pretty useless if you play multiple levels because it is expressed in dollars. It should be expressed in big blinds so that it is meaningful at any level.

- We'll look into this.

35. 26$ token for 5000 fulltilt poker academy credits, 75$ token for 17500 fulltilt academy credits

- I asked around, and this was just a mistake. The $75 token is now 15,000 credits.

Assuming it's the same thing they have on Pokerstars, it'll be this:

An RSA security token is a revolving password that changes every few minutes. You get a key chain looking thing that displays the revolving password.

So it doubles the security.

Logging in will require something you know, your password.
and something you have, the RSA token.

In essence, it's a changing code that you add to your login, so even if someone has your user/pass from a keylogger, they would need access to your security token keychain to enter the code for that minute.

I'm curious... if Full Tilt is going to offer this up for purchase, does this mean that it can only work with the Full Tilt software?

In other words, if my bank offered this RSA token, does that mean I'd have to purchase a second one?

I like the idea, especially for accessing my bank account and/or purchasing things online with a credit card.

But for a poker account, I don't see how this is going to solve many of the other problems that can occur... multi accounting, shared accounts, etc.

For example, say I'm approaching the final table of a large MTT... I can easily log off during a break, IM my buddy with much more final table experience than me, send him my static and dynamic password and he can play as me.

That can still be done now. While the security token won't solve all problems, it's certainly a step in the right direction. It's more of a way to allieviate peoples' accounts from being hacked, etc.

Of course.

But why not take the security a step further, with say something that physically identifies you?

For example: http://www.neurotechnology.com/verifinger.html

And if this or a similar device can easily determine duplicate identiites, multi-accounting will become a thing of the past.

Shared accounts can still occur, but the person whose account is being used must physically be there at the computer to log in... there's really not much we can do to prevent my buddy from giving me advice on what to do in a hand or from clicking the mouse for me while I take a bathroom break... but a more advanced security device will prevent me from allowing anyone across the world from using my account.

Sadly WOW has had this for well over a year, and Poker sites are finally coming around to getting some ALMOST decent security. Unreal.

ONE HOUR LATE REG? Are you f*)(&_g high?! Late reg sucks. If you can't get to the tourney when it starts too freakin' bad. One hour late reg, would stop all my tourney play at FTP. It's stupid.

That device is easier to defeat than the weak RSA SecureID.

Or you could have a way so that accounts can only be signed on from authorized computers.

Some of my local casinos have "re-entry" tournaments, where during the first hour you can re-enter if you bustout, and these also allow "late" starters. Now the online sites allow late starters to join in if they are forgetful or didn't know about a juicy tourney that started 3 minutes ago... if you don't like them, don't play them.
