I'm getting tired of Phil Hellmuths big mouth and I want someone to stop it.
Why can't Phil and Tom Dwan play 10 000 hands together to find out who's the best? Similar to the challenge with Patrik Antonius
I'm pretty sure Dwan would beat him up |

He's one of the greatest when it comes to outlasting average players in TOURNAMENTS. Let's face it, he's a poor cash game player.
Can anybody provide statistics on Phils online results?
I wish Phil and Tom could play like 2000 hands, and the winner has to be rewarded 600k + the winnings.
No problem for Phil, he says he has over 20 millions in tournament winnings. I'm just tired of his excuses like " I used to play like Tom when I was young, but I found a better way to make money. We'll see if he's hanging around in 5 years .."
Phil can't play 50% of the hands he's dealt and still make a profit from that. He has to stick to his top 7 hands (how deceptive...) because he doesn't have the skills to play like Tom.
But I hope he'll try to prove me wrong |

I used to hate Phil, but I like him now. He's just a cry baby at times, I think it's how he gets rid of tilt.
11 WSOP bracelets, probally the best tournament player in the world. |

Yeah you got to give him credit for that, you'll never hear me say a bad word about his tournament play when he's facing a bunch of average opponents. But I believe he's not even top 10 when it comes to cash games. Dwan, Ivey, Antonius, even Negreanu and Esfandiari are way better live players in my opinion
11 bracelets or 7.. I don't really think the number says anything about skills. My best friend screwed 16 girls and I only screwed 1, but I still believe I'm a better lover
No matter how good you play, you have to get lucky if you want to win a tournament anyway. No one wins 11 bracelets by getting lucky on a consistent basis, but you can't conclude that Phil is far better than Dan Harrington or Doyle Brunson for example because he has more bracelets |

He is a great player. It is difficult to deny that.
But he is just such an As$... The way he holds his sun glasses in his mouth makes me want to punch the TV.
I suppose that is part of his whole table image though. |

If they played HU NLHE tourney style, no rebuys, increasing blind structure, etc, Phil would win 8 times out of 10. HU cash game, any game, any stakes, Durr would win 9.5 times out of 10. Phil just doesn't have the mindset for the cash game or the ability to adjust to it (at least in the short term, he's amazing enough to improve his cash game play to be the best, but he's more focused on his brand rather than his play unfortunately...).
This mindset was on display recently in the chat transcipt that was posted on hoss_tbf's blog. I never heard of him before, but I guess he's a pretty big deal. I lost a lot of respect for Phil after reading this transcript. I understand he has to be the way he is for the tv cameras, but his attitude during this match was uncalled for and really showed how big of a leak his ego is to his game. |

He doesn't need anyone here to say it... His record speaks for itself. |

He's not the best tournament player ever and honestly not close. Maybe based on results he's up there but not on actual skill level. No one really knows his true ROI because of just how many WSOP events he plays. He probably plays more WSOP events than any other pro on the circuit.
He has some pretty massive fundamental errors, notably on the short stack. In one WSOP episode he min-raise/folded with like a 5BB stack, then went on about how good he is after he picked up AA the next hand and doubled. |

| I have never like Helmuth for the simple reason of his arrogant A$$ mouth. I get sick of him and his lame costumes he wears to the tables when he is at events, there is my two cents, his game play is back and forth and unpredictable which I guess is good, I just don't agree with his attitude. |

Nobody said he was the best tournament player... and I'm pretty sure if they did, they wouldn't base it off of one or two hands from one episode of coverage of one tournament that he played in... |
