so let me see if i am understanding the challenge right. its 3:1 500k side bet on who wins out over 50k hands? So you have to have cash to sit down plus the side bet cash, correct? Cuz I smell a BAP too. |

| lmao i wasn't intending to raise a bap of any sort for myself. i'm asking because a friend of mine has a pretty big chunk of cash he feels the urge to gamble. its not 1.7 mil but its not chump change either. |

im surprised that durrrr issued the challenge saying that it was open to all players except Phil Galfond. thats like saying that phil is so much better that tom dwan
i would have just open it to all and just say personally to phil, that he was playing against him |
I'm wondering if this might be a way to take a shot at the "committee" that chose the NBC HU field. If I remember correctly, Galfond was not invited. Having one of the best known online players in the world say I'll take on anybody but him looks to the casual player as if durrr is saying that is the one guy he can't beat.
This might be their way of trying to get Galfond, a truly excellent player, more national exposure. |

Besides that they are good friends, the challenge was issued long before the NBCHU field was chosen. |

| Patrik sounds frustrated at the latest interview. They should put in a 'real job' clause. something like both of them MUST play 8 hours a day 5 days a week. The person that doesn't show up or doesn't complete their 8 hours gets penalized $50k. I wish I had the option of only working when I wasn't tired or didn't feel good. These guys are starting to sounds like professional athletes. |

| If durrr wasn't in a mood for some time, he seems enjoying it after tonight taking what, near three quarters of a million from Gus, Phil and Patrik simultaneously. Hope they 'll speed up their Durrrr chellenge soon, and we ll see some action. Its quite fun watching... |

[quote="nekotec"]theres an interview with PA talking about how he is really disappointed that this is taking so slow because dwan is playing HSP and NBC heads up championship, and not paying much attention to this challenge
patrick should be liking the fact he isnt taking much notice and take advantage of the fact. i still thik pat will win thogh, maybe not by much but he will win |

It's been a while since our last update, and meanwhile both players (Tom "durrrr" Dwan and Patrik Antonius) have played quite a few hands and we've seen big pots during the last few sessions. Finally they've played a really big session of 2,043, and a few 800-1000 hand sessions. So far 12,114 hands have been played, so they're almost at 1/4th of the total hands for this challenge.
And yet again, we can't say any one of those two seems to have a big edge. The biggest advantage we've seen so far was close to $250,000 for both players, but neither of them managed to stay ahead or expand their lead. We have however seen quite a few big hands so far. The biggest one was won by durrrr. On a board [6c 4c Js] , almost half the stacks went in, while they pushed in the other half of their stacks on the turn. This made a $291,950.50 pot and when the river [Qc] came, it turned out that Durrrr had made the nut flush with his [Ac 5h 3c 7c] , beating Antonius, who had flopped a set of jacks with his [Kh Jh 9c Jc] and hit the J-high flush on the river.
Another interesting hand was a big suckout by Antonius and the third biggest pot so far. With Dwan holding[ Qs Qh Th 9h] on the flop [Jc 8h 3h], he was a 92% favorite over Antonius, who held [7s 2c 6h 4h] . Dwan bets, Antonius calls and the on the turn [5s] gives Antonius a few more outs to his straight. Dwan check-raises him for another $67,200 and Antonius calls and at the [4s] on the river, the last $22,733 goes in, after Antonius runner-runnered his straight in a pot worth $196,665.50 .
So far Patrik Antonius is slightly ahead. He has a profit of $84,544 after he won 5,657 out of 12,114 hands. Dwan has slightly more hands won, but obviously his average amount won per winning hand is lower. Another interesting statistic shows the importance of position in heads-up poker. While Dwan has won over a million on the button, he lost all of that and more on the big blind. The same statistics obviously hold for Antonius, although his button-winnings are bigger than his big blind-losses. |
