It's where the min/max amount of chips required to play at that table are higher than a regular table with the same blinds.
It allows you to play with a deep stack of chips, as compared to the blind levels. |

| Normal buyin at a ring game allows a maximum of 100 big blinds, and deep stack allows up to 200 big blinds. So at 5c/10c table you can buyin for $10 on a normal table, and $20 at a deep stack. |
