Nice soul read. Unfortunately for you, I recognize the villain, and he is pretty tight-passive iirc. Knowing that, I could conceivably fold, but it's a pretty big in-game decision to fold the 2nd nuts, especially if you DON'T know that.

wow i thought this was 25nl at first. an overbet that huge from a person who is not clearly a retard has to be the nuts always doesn't it?

Just one of those hands not much you can do about it. Folding this is bad IMO. They either had some sick read you had the lower straight or probably put you on two pair.

HuJ is right imo - I've seen some fairly solid thinking players who take these massive overbet lines OTR when they have the nuts because other players are unable to figure out whether it's a bluff or the nuts.

If you haven't incorporated this into your game yet - I would. It can be very profitable against certain (many) players.

I think you played this correctly. It would have been very difficult for you to fold the second nuts after he played the hand the way he did. Just bad luck that he had it.

Not much wrong with the way it was played out and great read at the end, making that read it should have been a lay down but that said in heinesight i bet in game it was a very hard lay down to make
