I have said it before, if they ever want to see internet poker explode all they have to do is legalize it in Nevada/US and have the big name sites like FT partner with bricks and mortar casinos like Caesars. It would be huge.

+1 US strong political efforts by online sites to counter the UIGEA and Barney Frank's efforts to persuade congress poker is a game of skill.

I think the big B&M casinos are torn about wanting this to be legal, they could stand to lose alot of tourist revenue in the states where they do business in, not the gambling revenue but the motel, food and beverage and retail sales revenue not to mention the tax dollars from these revenues per city and state.

yes I can explain it
If they admitted it was a game of skill then they would have to admit it is something they are not good at. Even people who don't play never want to admit this when it comes to poker.
Also because politicians are bought and paid for buy special interest groups

But it should be legal of course, even if it wasn't a game of skill.

Harrahs one of the largest casino conglomerates (Ceasers, Horseshoe, Rio, Ballys, Flamingo, Paris, Harvey's) is behind this and have already formed an online gaming company. Online poker is not a threat to the casino business.
