Tough hand. I've never understood players who call all in with nothing but low draws.

You though have JJ and a suited Ace.

I'd be happy to be first into the pot here, but i really think you are calling to hopefully win 1/2 the pot. I'd probably fold.

In hindsight it was a bad call, although I got a decent price on the hand, once buckeyes had called. If I fold I've got another circuit until the blinds and I woulda moved up a place in the money.

It's not a bad call "in hindsight." If you won, would you think it was a good call?

If you break your hand down, you've got a pair of Js, a nut low draw with no back-up, and a nut heart flush possibility. If you were first into the pot, I'd put it in every day, however because you have someone else ready to invest on their hand, you just aren't strong enough preflop, and you need to rely on making a hand.

No, but I woulda been a lot happier!!!

I take on board what you say tho, as an opener its fine, but its not so clever calling an all in raise with it. Thanks for your comments mate, I appreciate them.

Unless I know it's a good player, I call that every time. 90% of the peeps in these tourneys way overvalue marginal hands.

Whether I call or fold here depends a lot on how tight the guy has been playing

OK, so I ran the hand through the simulater verses the top 10% of hands the pot equity is about 50/50, but against AA** I'm a dog, but at around 6/4. I'd probably make the call 99 times out of a 100 given my chip stack at time. There are times when you just have to gamble, and I think this was one of them.

It was nice to get to that final table, I'm hoping to go 6 better than I did there soon!

You know for all the bad beats, high flops when you got ABC, being fished out of half again, being quartered when you had 20 outs to make nut/nut and those aces not holding up yet again! Hi Lo is one helluva game and we all love it!!
