Looks like they closed 6 more accounts, so expect checks to start bouncing again...It would be nice if someone from FTP would come on and say something so we know if our checks are good or bad, but they didn't last time so don't count on it. FTP would rather have us cash our checks knowing they just had 6 more processors closed and have to worry about having to compensate people AGAIN.
You heard it here on October 1st.
Now heres whats going to happen. Full Tilt isn't going to make a statement, so people are going to go on as normal. Those getting checks in the mail later this month will just head to the bank with them, thinking nothings wrong. Then fast forward a week when they start to bounce, they'll be here complaining and wanting refunds/bonuses/etc. If anyone cashes a check after October 1st and it bounces you should be pretty pissed at FTP for not making a statement as soon as accounts were closed.
(Just deposited a check two days ago btw, before the news broke...hope it doesn't bounce) |

While I do agree that some notices are necessary, you do realise that most of the posters that come here and whine, usually have no posts prior to the rant thread they open ? That means they don't check the forum and wouldn't ever see a notice; the spamming and ranting would just go on as usual.
The only solution is a mail by FT to every US player to explain the situation. |

Yea, Full Tilt knows how to send out a mass-email about a promotion, so I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to send out a mass-email warning of potential problems. Doesn't specifically need to be posted on the forums, but FTP has plenty of options to spread the word and in the past they have chosen not to. |

bump for LMFAO jeffr8 was right- checks are bouncing again. Another bump for lol @ full tilt for not sending out mass emails telling people not to cash the checks that they knew were going to bounce. |

Nice call!
So I got the bounced check email from full tilt. My bank is showing that particular check has cleared though. Do I contact them to say it will eventually bounce? I've heard people have full tilt checks bounce after a month. I don't want this money just sitting there waiting to bounce. |

| So lemme get this straight. After the checks bounce they compensate you with the money back and more for the inconvenience. What are the odds of becoming a professional full tilt check bouncer for a living? Obv assuming that at some point I will be able to cash out my bonuses they give me for bouncing checks. |

I wouldn't really say this is good news until the check actually clears which I wouldn't bet on. My last 8 or 9 checks have bounced in the past couple months. I know it's been my experience that waiting to cash the check doesn't really matter as they don't send the automated message saying the check will bounce until I actually attempted to cash it. I've used the bank transfer method for my last few withdrawals which has worked with no problems so far. |

| Yeah walter, thats not exactly news of any kind, good or bad. Nobody ever doubted that we could cash out checks, the only thing in doubt is how good the checks are. And as predicted, we're running into another bad batch of checks from late September/early October. |

Sorry Jeff, this line was just my poor attempt at sarcasm.
Just meant to convey that I would not have withdrawn via check if I was aware of widespread bouncing of checks.
My bad for not checking around before withdrawing.
Fwiw, I've never gotten a check that bounced. |

For the people who are not clear on how a check is processed, and they keep complaining fulltilt sucks and their checks bounce, let me clear things up for you. When you get your check from a certain account, that account is active, its gonna take anywhere from a few to 15 business days for you to receive that check since the date that was written. When you get the check, you go to your bank and cash it, your bank will cash it for you, but for them to actually find out the check is good, they have to send it back to the processor that actually wrote the check and get that amount of money credited back to their bank, and that takes some time to happen, sometimes it can take up to a month to happen.
Thanks to great American laws with regards to online poker and financial institutions, these accounts constantly get frozen by the federal government, so fulltilt has no idea when or where one of these accounts will get frozen until it happens. So when u cash a check, that account might still be active, but two weeks after you cash that check the account could get frozen and your check does not get cleared by the processor, thus the check bounces. Fulltilt cant warn you ahead of time for things they dont know will happen. Everyone constantly blames fulltilt for bank problems, but they have no control over these matter. This is an American problem and not a fulltilt problem, everyone else playing around the world dont have any of these banking issues that Americans have to put up with.
If you want to blame someone, blame your politicians and your lawmakers and instead of spamming the fulltilt forums, spam the emails of your congressmen, and tell them to do something about it. |

| They advertise Echeck, but not for us? Have account on Stars too. Can easily withdraw and deposit within a few days to the bank. Why can't we do that on full tilt? |

Oh man this scares me. I am waiting for a check from fulltilt and damn i hope it's good. I switched from Poker Stars and I have to say that when I withdrew from them not only did I get my check in 3 days it was actually good. Might have to go back to Stars if this check isnt good.
My fingers are crossed my check arrives and is in good standing. |

Fwiw, the check I talked about was deposited three weeks ago and hasn't bounced yet. |
