here's the deal, i was on a major downswing and i needed money so i withdrew a large portion of my poker money. mostly to make sure i step down and avoid tilting it all away. the downswing continued at lower stakes. as of right now, my bankroll stands at ~$80 and a $26 satellite token. i want to try some kind of bankroll challenge that starts with $80 and ends with me rebuilding a decent bankroll. suggestions, comments, etc. are welcome.
phase 1
$80 =>
10 $2.25 9-max sng
10 $2.25 9-max turbo sng
10 $3.30 9-max midnight madness satellite sng
bonus:
10 $1 daily dollar (2,000 ftp)
1 $26 mtt (token)

If you have rakeback, and want to get yourself off of LifeTilt just play super-tight ABC poker at the fullring capped NLHE tables or even the fullring limit OmahaHiLo tables, only play nuttable hands preflop and nuts-or-draws-to-it on the flop (depending on opponents' tendencies, i.e. vs. idiots/maniacs you might want to push TPGK hard in NLHE, or call down 2nd-nut-low in Omaha8) and within a few hours you should have a few bucks in rakeback piled up... do that for a few weeks and you should have a more decent BR and feel more confident again about self-discipline, making the right choices and ignoring "results", etc.
Also play the 2 smallest super-satellites, your confidence will go up big time $0.25 satellite to the Daily Dollar ($1) , and the $1 satellite to the $5.50 "FTOPS Warmup". |

thanks for the feedback. if i have a bad run i will probably take a break for a couple weeks then redeposit $100 and take another shot. my problem with a bap is that im so busy that i dont know when i can play and that would annoy investors.
i dont have rakeback but i will incorporate cash games into phase 2 if all goes well.
the ftops warm up sattys are in fact very easy. i should try to get some of those in here as well. i chose the daily dollar because i can use 200 ftp instead of $1 cash. as far as the sattys go, i dont have patience for a 25c game and dont like the idea of 20% rake.
will start this today or tomorrow. going to focus on abc poker. @mods: if you think this belongs in poker stories please move it. thank you. |

GL AIDD...
I kind of did something sim. to this by making a public challange to myself so I start playing with a little more focuss. Getting a little tired of playing break even / losing poker...
Keep us updated... I'd like to see how you make out. |

If this is an honest assessment then I think you're half way to turning yourself around. You'd be surprised how many folks walk around with the big invincible M on their chest. Self examination is goot. |
