|
|
I have a whole bunch of old car audio gear. I was raelly 9into it when I was younger. Anyway I was cleaning out old stuff when I found two old 15" Kicker Solo baric subwoofers. The old round ones. These are brand new in the box. I looked them up online to see if they might be worth anything still and was reading all these rreviews about them and it got me all nostalgic and not wanteing to tsell them. I also have 3 12" 25th anniversary chrome basklet solos too. I used to run them on a MTX thunder amp. Anyway anyone else into car audio or used to be. I used to instal then reinstall all my stuff every few months then upgrade and do it all over again.

I used to be back in the day. Had a couple JL 12w1s face to face in an iso-bandpass box I designed and built myself. Ran the whole system on a Soundstream 705 (50x4+200x1). Some gutless coward punks decided they wanted it more than I did and busted out a window and my trunk lock to steal the whole thing.
Good times while they lasted. I think I still have a 10w1, a little Alpine 40x2 amp and some assorted random goodies in the garage somewhere. |

I had a nice car stereo once. A friend of a friend put it in for me the summer after I graduated high school. He custom built a box for a single 10'' kicker sub. He built is so well that I got tremendously nice performance out of it. I also had some Polk 6x9's and some amp I can't remember what kind. I had a Clarion CD player. It was awesome. It could play any style of music and sound sooooo good - unlike most everyone else with dual 12 or 15 inch subs that could only blast base.
Even better are the memories of the nights we drove to the friend-of-a-friends house a few towns over. He did the job over four separate nights and his only payment was a bottle of Bacardi each night (which, of course, he shared). He and his friends were a really fun bunch.
Oh yeah... everything but the sub and box got stolen about four months later. |

For some reason I respect the $17 pic more than the $120 pic ... odd.
(Maybe it's because "dollers" is mispelled in the $120 one ... lolol) |

I have a JBL audio system with 8 speakers. 6CD changer in the arm-rest and little amp and a sub-woofer in the trunk.
Nothin' special, packs a little punch and has a good sound quality.

In my old car I had 2 12" Phoenix Gold Tantrum Subs, with a PG Octane Amp, in a box. Also had a premium bose sound system to go on the interior.
I want to upgrade the sound system in my car that I have right now (Lexus IS250) but probably don't want anything more than 1 12" in the car. Any suggestions for a sub that packs a big punch in little space? |

Nice PG system
Damn man I haven't kept up with current gear so I have no idea what to recommend for a new 12" sub. glgl with finding something nice though. I plan on installing my two old school 15" solos at some point. I was just gonna sell them but I realized they were too attached to memories of my youth to do it. |

| Actually I guess I'll list my entire system I used to have installed in my Buick. I had three 12" Kicker solo baric subwoofers, four infinity kappa 6x9 on the rear deck and four infinity kappa 6.5" in the kick panels. The subs ran on a bridged mono MTX thunder amp. The 6x9's were on an alpine amp and the 6.5's were on a phoenix gold amp. Panasonic head unit. That system freaking slammed. Clean sound too. You couldn't even turn it all the way up. It would damage your hearing. Good thing the head unit had a remote. |
