That's a pretty standard beat, %75/%25 i think. Not really post worthy.

Also, most people are probably just going to post "Fold pre-flop", heh.

I had a little history with him, I played headsup at the end of another SNG and he was a major donk reraising me all-in with 67o preflop when I had AKs and reraise with J6s when I had KQo and always won outdrawing me so I knew he was a terrible player.

So you put him on the 67o range....

You read souls well.

Well even I, the skeptical Gnome, can't see too much wrong with that hand. Count the outs !

After your nice 2 pair flop you have essentially only 4 out cards that can improve your holding from 2 pair to full house which are 2 x 6s and 2 x 8s.

Your opponent however, after making his flopped pair of Qs has more outs. He has:

2 x Qs (to make trips)
3 x Ks (to make top 2 pair)

and after any random turn card he then has 3 more outs (the remaining 3 of that turn card left in the pack) to make his 2 pair on the river (as actually happened). Thats at least 8 outs to your 4.

If you're on a 9 player table those outs are taken from a remaining deck of 31 cards. 8 outs from 31 cards is approx 1 in 4 chance.

So overall no big deal that I can see. Of course it always sucks when you suffer the 1 in 4 rather than other 3 in 4 !

I think my own poker sucks a lot at the moment and I'm studying to get better, but my view at the moment is that TPTK and 2 pair are rarely enough to win it at this game. You need trips, straights and flushes and I tend to hold out for these far more lucrative hands than 2 pairs (especially 2 low pairs!) and I certainly wouldn't get drawn into an all-in situation with a low 2 pair. Maybe that's a weak strategy on my part, not sure.

I suspect thought that in reality, your history with this loose annoying player fueled your desire to catch him and bust him after what looked like a nice flop and made you invest more into the pot that the hand warranted. 10/10 for giving it a go though Smile These pests need to be swatted !

You're wrong.
You only take cards out of the deck that you can see. In this case, he would be taking out 7 cards from the 52 (8, 8, 6, 6, K, Q, and Q). You cant take out cards from the other 9 people at the table, because you don't know what they folded. It would be out of 45, not 31.

Yep you're right, it's late afternoon and I'm wrecked from 1am poker last night !

7 cards visible after flop. 45 remaining in the deck and other players hands.

Player 1 has 4 outs to improve his hand, 4 in 45 = 1 in 11 ish
Player 2 has 8 outs in 45 to hit top 2 pait which is about 1 in 5.5

Pretty sure it's about a 75/25 chance as Lenny says. Maybe a bit less as we factor in the small possibility of hero making a boat.

On flop, villain has 5 outs, roughly 10% chance of hitting on turn.
On turn he will have a further 3 outs, so about 15% to hit on river.

You called a preflop raise with crap.

You flopped bottom two and got all your chips in with the best of it and got outdrawn.

Standard.

Next time fold preflop.

does anyone else see the irony in this

he calls with 86 off..and hes calling the other player a donk for 67o ...and then he criticizes the "donk" for raising and playing with a KQ on a drawless board...

deserved IMO

Its one thing to call preflop with medium hands and flop big hands, than just moving all in preflop and winning with them

IMO he went all in with the best and lost against a 1/5 chance. Thats just poker.
