The Odds for Ad Jh vs Ks Qc in NLHE for example are approx 60% - 40%.
Obviously AJ is a favorite over KQ.
But the odds for AJ vs KQ vs 88 were 32% - 34% - 32% approx respectively.
Why are the odds of KQ higher over AJ in a three way pot with 88 compared to AJ vs KQ heads up ?

| Both AJ and KQ need to make a pair or better when they're against 88 and KQ makes more straights. |

| If AJ pairs the Jack, he is still beat if K OR Q pairs. K or Q paired is only beat by the A pairing. Plus the extra straight options. |
