i am going to attempt to do 52% of what chris ferguson did. i am going to attempt to get $5,200 from nothing. then if i achieve this goal i will be prepared to give 52%($2,704) of it to the Save the Children Foundation. i have aready been able to get a bank of $12.40 from nothing. i will try to apply most of the same bankroll policies as chris did. i made a few tweaks and may make a few more. i read before something about satellites in the past but haven't been able to find it lately. but i'm saying if the buy-in for the satellite is 2% or less of my BK i can do it(provided its not a sat. to a sat. then my BK would have to be able to afford the 2nd sat.). anyway i got a few more tweaks but will try to apply a sound BK policy to hopefully achieve this goal. just throwing it out there. i hope to be able to play the .01/.02 cents mirco's soon enough. i need to know if these are beatable and if so how is it done? any help on the way would be great thanks.

i would have to say yes. and mostly tournaments at that. but i am open to the idea of razz or omahe hi. although i don't think i'm good enough to make money at it yet.

i'm not really sure how long. as long as it takes i guess. i also am not making that lower limit exception that chris made. so it may take some time. i also want somewhere between 20-25 buy-ins for the next level(eg $70-$75 for buy-in to the ferguson). so as of right now w/$12.40 i can do the .10 buy-in of the .10 + .50 cent rebuy tourney. but a can't afford a rebuy.

So... the problem with satellites is that you should need to divide your money much further. If you win a satellite say 1 out of 3 times you enter, and a tourney say 1 out of 100, then you need a REALLY big bankroll relative to the satellite buy-in. Probably the tourneys you play in will have worse odds than that, so you will need an ever bigger roll. The 2% rule will just not be sustainable, at least not in a "Ferguson Challenge" type scenario.

That said, there are some things you can do with satellites that should be fine, the primary example is:

If you just earn money from satellites, and un-enroll from the tournaments, you will have "tournament dollars". There can be used to buy into other satellites. This can compound quickly, especially as satellites are softer than the tournaments you are winning entry into. This is because (generally) you are playing people of the caliber indicated by the satellite buy-in price, not the tourney buy-in (e.g., $5.50 quality players, not $26 or $75). Tournament dollars can be converted to real dollars in a couple of ways, you can change them directly (at a penalty) or you can use them to enter low level sngs or something else you are profitable or atleast break even at. There are people out there, who predominantly play satellites. I've done a couple stints of that and done well by it (I usually convert it back with multi-table sngs).

Good Luck!

i've made deposits in the past. but i've won a freeroll in the past so i'm counting .28 cents as part of the freeroll winnings. i'm currently up to $14.61 all from freerolls mostly from the $40 freeroll which costs 500k playchips to enter.

well up to $20.38 still a ways to go but so far so good. one good thing about getting money from freeroll is you can't lose money at them.

They're extremely beatable. Just play tight - really tight - and then when you get a big hand, play it hard. It's astonishing what people will call you down with sometimes, so you often find yourself waiting forever for the nuts, but then you usually get paid off.

One thing to be aware of is that the rake is disproportionately high in games below $0.10/$0.25.

took a big hit to the playchips. good lesson in stop losses. i got to set some rules for that. any ideas? tring to build my playroll up to afford the 500k playchips again. i'm up to $24.21 real money now and hope to be able to afford a buyin at the .01/.02 2nl soon enough.
