These challenges are actually a little weird. I personally don't like them because
A)In the beginning you are not really playing for money. Yes, of course you are playing with money, but the amounts are so unsubstantial that its really strange to think about betting it in terms of money, since the "pressure" factor isn't really there yet.
B)Once you get to like 2K you realize that you are actually playing for money since a bet of $50-$100 has quite a kick to it. At that point you kind of stop paying attention to the challenge and actually start thinking about the money you are winning and it stops being just a fun challenge. It is probably a leak but it's also human nature.
It was a little easier for Ferguson because that 2K mark didn't really apply to him. Maybe you have a very good job in real life, but to me 1-2K is about where "real" money starts i.e. money I wouldn't want to lose just to have fun.
I don't know, maybe i'm wrong. Anyways, Good Luck. |

| not a good end to a month. i'm at $86.74 i was able to get a silver medal so that is worth $50. which would bring the BR to $136.74! as i see it i would need $150(25 BIs) to do 5nl again as this would be my 3rd attempt. i didnt do so well at that level at first it really was just bad luck. then it turn into just bad play. which continued into 2nl. even though i was losing i kept on playingy solely to earn enough FTPs for a medal. i figure it cost me around $70 for a $50 bonus. so this month i'm looking at the bonus as just that a "bonus" if i get it sweet if not oh well. i shouldnt let that effect my play. i did complete 3 challenges this month 5leak,preflop play, + power of position. i'm doing the BR challenge now. i'll be looking to mix it up this month too. SNGs + MTTs. i'm also try to build up some FTP w/satellites and use some FTPs for the daily$ tourneys which i've come to like. well till next week. |

| I completed a few challenges. Now I'm working on ones that involve SNGs. I am a losing SNG player. Sharkscope me. I originally had $60 tranfered, deposited $100 and made another $90 as a sign on bonus for a total of $250. But I've lost a total $400+ in SNGs and probably paid another $350 in rake. What I would do is win in MTTs then lose it all back in SNGs. This week was sort of like the past. I got my roll up to $100+ in 2nl then lost $20 back to SNGs. I know this is a huge leak in my over all game. Instead of avoiding them I am going to try to learn more about them and how to win at them. I feel as though my strength in no-limit is MTTs and early and middle stages at that. I'm also getting the feeling my HU and final table game is weak(because of lack of SNG success) but have been able to overcome this in MTTs by amassing a huge amount of chips to bring to the final table. So this week I will try to work more on my SNG game for as long as the BR can take. Then maybe do some 2nl to get the roll back up. Oh ya the $50 bonus I got to work off. So the rolls now at $81.58 but I will be working on the SNGs and hope to be able to complete the SNG challenges and win some money in the process. |

lol. I tried getting in the other day but it was full. i will look for to play these more. i did do them when i had just over $5 in my account. i didnt do the rebuy though. anyway i've been selected to "test" challenges for tilt. this is pretty cool and i get $ to do it too. between this and some MTT success i've managed to get my roll to $198.32 and $3.70 tournament dollars. ive been doing FTP satellites too. i got 6.2k FTPs and am shooting for 10k by the end of the month. i need to buy that SNG book. i'm still getting crushed at those SNGs. im about 1/2 done with the challenges and 1/2 done working off my $50 bonus. ill be working on that too this week. until then see ya. |

i saw a thread under the challenges section of this forum for testers. it's been locked and deleted since. keep an eye out for another if i see one i'll pm you. thanks for the tip on trulyfreetraining.com. signed up today looks great. I want Collin Moshman's book even more now. not sure if i will just buy it or and use FTPs for it. i got over 12k in FTPs thanks to the record breaker satellites. if i knew about them before i would of played lots more of them oh well. my roll growing big now. $366.03 still working off that bonus hope to have that done my the end of the month. playing 5nl and MTT's for the most part. really looking forward to playing more 9 man SnGs once a learn a little more about them. well until next week.
-- oh i decided that the bonus money i earn w/challenge testing and ironman etc. will all be added to my challenge bankroll. 52% is going to "save the children foundation" who am I to take from that. with that said i will not however jump levels because i eanred a bonus and now can afford a higher stake. i did jump to 5nl but did have $100 for it without the bonus' added. so i wont be jumping to 10nl too soon. i'll put my hands in at each level. and hopely move up. |

| BR is growing still. $429.28, 0.10T$, 12,658.85FTPs, 19,302 academy points, and 12,940,160 playchips. Yes I still do playchips. I enjoy the 100k playchip tourney and play almost nightly. That is a big thing!!! You really have to enjoy playing this game to be a success at it. I worked off my $50 bonus and have 4 days left to get another ironman medal. But I am not going to get it this month. Just don't feel like grinding for 4 days. I've been doing mostly MT SNGs and have had some good results. This arena has always been my strong point. I got enough FTPs for that SNG book I want but think I'm going to just buy it. I don't feel like waiting 6-8 weeks. I did signup for stoxpoker at trulyfreetraining.com and am looking forward to the free week I've earned for next month. If i really feel it worth it I'll sign up for 3-6 month with my academy points. That's my update see you next week. |

ty still a long way to go. i think "preflop play" or "5 leaks" the easiest so far. Well "betting basics" very easy also. But if i were to start over i would start with the "bankroll management" one. I only did this twice now and it will be very hard to do now. Now impossible but alot harder as the BR grows. |

| I been earning bonus' by testing challenges mostly. I mostly play SNGs and MT ones at that. I am doing a week of stoxpoker and like it. But I was very impressd by Ryan Daul's new lesson on vbetting in the academy. I think I may go for cardrunners instead. I bought Collin Moshman's SNG book and realise I had my SNG strategy backwards. Maybe when I finish the book i'll try some more ST SNGs. The BR is upto $638.21. I still got 12.4 FTP's and close to 20k AP. Maybe signup up for a few months of cardrunners i'm still not sure. Until next week. |

This book saved my SnG game. When I saw this a way back when, I thought "oh great, another one of these." but you stuck with it and I think that's pretty cool.
Did you ever get rakeback? I saw ealier you said you didn't have it. I got mine threw rakebackpros, even after having played on FTP for 1+ year without it. Maybe you can too, I just emailed FTP and RBP. |
