| Well I was ITM in the FTPA $5k freeroll and had a short stack of 10BB's UTG and looked down at AKo figured now is a good of time as any so I shove it. It gets folded to the big blind who got me covered he calls and shows AQs. You know how this goes the Q flops and holds i'm out 262nd. Seems i'm always going out when i'm ahead. I must be getting better! Thats poker right. Anyway a $7.50 cash brings the roll to $45.83 enough for 2nl. I'm still going to do the 20 BIs 1st try 22 BIs 2nd thing and figure I will use the money I got over $40 to go towards a tournament BR. So as of now i'm $45 away from $1 tourney buyins. well thats the idea anyway hope I follow it. |

They're extremely beatable. Just play tight - really tight - and then when you get a big hand, play it hard. It's astonishing what people will call you down with sometimes, so you often find yourself waiting forever for the nuts, but then you usually get paid off.
One thing to be aware of is that the rake is disproportionately high in games below $0.10/$0.25. |

micro is just a level of stake. high stakes go from $3/$6 to $500/$1000 and micros go from .01/.02 to .05/.10.
i've done a couple sessions at 2nl. up a couple $'s but know its very streaky at the limits. few big hands and a few costly mistakes too. i hope to plug some leaks before i more up. if i get there that is. the total is now $49.62 i figure another $50 i'll be on to the 5nl. |

| ok i've been grinding FR 2nl. i've missed played a few hands and bamn there goes a huge profit. i'm still in the green but am hoping i can correct some of these leaks before i move up(i'll be happy to just plug some leaks). i got my roll up to $55.44 not too bad for someone who has never been a winning player in ring games. i'm just learning. there is a few ideas i've been toyng with. 1st i've not even started the challenges on the academy. 2nd i need to do a rakeback of some kind. and the last thing is about a BR policy. i've heard a few ideas on multitable BR's and have come up with on i like. its basically how mant buyins 15% will get me. but figure i need another 1/2 buyin for a cushion.eg 15% of $55 is 8.25 so i can do 3 tables at $2. when i get to $60 i could buyin to 4 tables and sill have 1/2 buyin to spare. IDK if this make sense to anyone but me. but if i find a better way to explain it i'll repost it. |

| there i was multi tabling 4 tables. i had it all figured out 15% stop loss etc. i just woke up, started playing, no coffee, still tired a couple bad beats followed by some really really bad play i was down $11.24 in one session. thats 19%!!! the thing was i wasnt paying attention to my roll. a lot was learned by this(i hope). coffee first poker after. i think i firgured out a way to prevent this 1st i figure a stop loss figure(BR-15%=stop loss figure). now i allow myself to buyin for as many tables as 15% of my roll will allow me(still no more than 5% per table and always for the max buyin allowed). now as i need to re-up to stay at max buyin i look where it tells me the amount of my bankroll if this gets to my stop loss figure i got a choose i either have to close the table w/less than 100BBs or close one with more than 100BBs. so far this has been working(as well as the coffee!). even with the huge down swing i'm up over all to a total roll of $71.01. cooommmme ooon 5nl! |

| grinding away. i took some huge beats in a monster session. i was 8 tabling. it was beyond my 15% rule, but figure i got to modify that because by the time im able to play lots of tables it time to move up. i still pay attention to the SLF(stop loss figure). even with the huge beats i was able to squeek out a few bucks. anyway the roll is now at $87.28 i was hoping to be at 5NL by the end of the month but it doesnt look like its going to happen. more likely the 1st week in june. i got to say this has been a great learning experiance for me. for anyone out there who doesnt win at poker i challenge you to try it. |

| made enough for one or two buyins at 5nl. bought in and and did ok. then had another session took a couple bad beats and went on tilt. i ended up lossing more than i wanted. down $16 in that session. i was having crazy thoughts. with $6.78 in front of me i was thinking stuff like i'll call here but when i get to $6 i'll stop playing bad. i should of just stopped playing then and there. oh well that was last night and today i dropped to 2nl. and started the day on a heater. i'm up $10 today so i got some of the money back. i'm just over $100 now i was $106(before tilting). now i figure i'll need $110 to try 5nl again(my 2nd attempt 22 buyins stop at 20). |

| I am really appreciating the term "grind" more and more. I've mostly been grinding 2nl. Although I've had a few more sessions at 5nl. I've been doing the challenges at the 2nl level. The bank is at $133.13 and growing. Which is nice. I got the "5 leaks" challenge done and am working on the "preflop play" challenge. I looked at the "bankroll challenge" maybe i should of started at that one. oh well it should be a challenge for sure(increase BR 25%). Well thats my update see you next week or so. |

Good luck. From my own experience, I find that the amount I lose in a losing is typically 2-4x that which I bank in a winning session. Knowing that sometimes its just not your day can save you some valuable money.
Definitely important to have the right amount of coffee and or beer when playing. I love it when I get that mix just right |

| ok i've been getting crushed at 5nl. but managed to get some back. i'm still an overall loser at 5nl. but i hope to turn that around this week who knows. i do have a question as to what to do with the FTP's and academy points i get. i know i can buy into other tourneys and get $ bonus' etc. but should this count towards my BR for this challenge or not? anyways havent made up my mind either way. but the roll is now $152.88 and i hope it grows w/my future 5nl sessions. did the "preflop play" challenge and now on to the "power of position" challenge. it's so tough to float in the micro's. |

| Wow, you are doing really great! Your BR seems to be growing at a healthy pace right now. I can't wait to see how far you can make it. Best of luck! |

| again crushed at 5nl. and it carried to 2nl. i dropped a ton. i've been playing tons to get a bonus medal but its killing my win rate. well the bank is only at $105.43 now. what i figure i'll need this time for 5nl will be $125(3rd attempt 25butins stop at 21). i've played a lot at 2nl but havent made any head way. if i could post a graph it would be flat lining. i got 5 more days to get a silver medal. after that i plan on taking a break to review my hand histories and to find and correct some leaks in my game. good bye till next week. |
