I've been seeing this a lot at the low limit SnGs. You come in for a raise and another player makes a small 3bet, sometimes even the min. I don't know about early stages, but in the middle stages this has been KK or AA at least 2/3 times I see it.
I guess the rationale is that any bigger raise is going to commit most of your stacks in the mid-late stages so you don't want to scare away the opposition, but at the same time you don't want to limp and invite a multiway pot. Has anyone else seen this as often as me, and can any adjustments be made? Obviously I'm throwing away marginal hands to most 3bets against all but the loosest of players here, but with something like 1010-QQ, if you are just flatting and the board comes all unders, what more could you ask for (other than a set :p). But if they do have AA/KK as often as I've seen it, you are behind anyway. Maybe I'm overthinking the last few times I've busted with a smaller overpair, but I am seeing it a lot. |

| I've ran into the same many times...and I may not be the player you should take advice from, but in the majority of those hands I think you have to chalk up to '**** happens' |
