i had been doing fairly well in supturbos (have placed everywhere from 1st to 6th...greatly increased my BR), but recently ive hit a pretty rough patch...no joking, last 4 out of 5 times ive gotten AK, i go all-in against an underpair or garbage and go busto.
variance? just unlucky? what says you o master
edit...AA busted twice in a row today preflop against garbage. i think im gonna take a break from FT for a little. |

Well , I have a question. I was kinda intrigued when I saw this thread.
I looked at your sharkscope , and without a doubt you have good stats. The one thing I don't understand is this :
-Assuming you didn't blow your profits in cash games / mTTs . Why the hell didn't you just build a bankroll ? I mean , with those profits (shown by sharkscope) you could have been playing games of upwards 100$ . Yes , the competition will be a lot more stiff , but if you are good player you'll still be able to get a decent ROI out of them. Even if your ROI drops , you'll still make a lot more per game.
It's not to dis you or anything , but 3$ super turbos seem quite time consuming for the kind of return you get , don't they ? Might be just me , but I'd rather have a bit lower ROI but get a greater net income.
Anyways , gl . Sorry if you already addressed this kind of question. Didn't feel like reading the whole thread. |

Hey WPTfuji,
I don't know if you have noticed but lately I have been at your table a ton. I'm playing a lot to try and get the Iron Man level for Iron Man since I'm not satisfied for just staying at silver anymore.
Just wondering...how many tables do you play at once? Also, I should have an ironman chip show up on my avatar, but it doesn't show up. Has that ever happened to you and what should I do about it?
One more thing, I give mad props to you. You are a good player and I like playing against you(even though a couple times you got really lucky against me with crap lol).
Peace man and I look forward to playing with you a lot more.

Hello Cdub512,
-Congrats on your quest for ironman.
-I play 16 tables at once.
-Your ironman chip can be turned on/off in your ironman page.
-Thanks for the props. It took years of hard work to hone my $3.8 sup turbo strategy.

AK is only a 3-2 favorite against undercards, and a small dog to underpairs. I wouldn't get too steamed about losing to a 40% shot or coinflip.

I like really bad beats because then I know I'm due for a good run. Twisted logic but it works for me. |

| WPTfuji, please move up to the $7 super turbos. I had the unpleasant experience of buying in to a $3.80 only to find you sitting at the table with me. Then you busted me. Please move up. Thanks. |

xRedx,
Sorry about the unpleasant experience. I usually only play for 2 hours/day during late night happy hour.

jeffr8,
The big blind is the most advantageous seat to be in when a sup turbo begins. Shows me if the guy in the small blind came to play or not.

Q, for anyone!
from a 1-tabler's perspective:
my boxscore, from sng madness.
[all 1.00+0.25, 9-handed]
warm up, Friday 3pm:
(104394620)2nd
this was because I installed Tournament Indicator, wanted to see if it worked.
sng madness:
(104398767)9th
(104399784)5th
(104404607)8th
(104409288)4th
(104413989)2nd
(104425611)7th
(104453151)1st
(104500981)7th
(104535187)1st
(104558887)3rd
(104585787)3rd
(104660646)2nd
(104645851)2nd
(104665191)2nd
2 1st's, and 4 2nd's.
Ick.
I can smallball and pick my spots to get to final 3 OK,
but Harrington's HU technique [from HoH, volume 2]
is TOO nitty,
and what Lederer describes @ the Academy
[shovamentz w K-rag and Q-rag when 2 or 3 handed]
tends to get picked up on rather quickly by observant opponents.
Is there a happier medium,
range-wise or aggro-wise?
