Hi there,
I am such a stud n00b and would like to get your perspective here,....what should I have done differently, when and why:
1. hand is stud hi, 2. is stud hi/lo
did I play terribly or did I just get unlucky?
any constructive feedback is highly appreciated!

Stud hi hand Raise on 3rd street. It will make it a little easyer to put him on 2 pair or a set when he rasies on 5th it was a tough break though.
Stud H/L Fold 3rd Its a mediocre high hand and a poor low hand scooping the pot is the idea stick to very strong high hands and hands with solid 2 way potental. |

I suck at stud too, but I would raise third and fold fifth on the first hand.
Hand 2 I would've played the same except I would c/c 7th |

Sorry bigpairde but i dunno what I'm doing on any of the horse games. First hand i was just trying to push you out and got lucky on 7th.
2nd hand as it was being played I actually thought kyblue had small 2pr already. Turns out 7th just burned you again. |

Hand 1: Complete 3rd. 3bet 5th. Bet 6th. Check 7th. Whoever said to fold 5th needs to never give stud advice again IMO.
Hand 2: Calling 3rd is fine. Fold 5th. You don't have the pot odds to continue, especially with fefimo behind you looking like he's got a fine looking low. |

thanks a million!
regarding the second hand: so I generally shouldn't stay in a hand with a flush draw on 5th with 1 card missing to the flush? |

UMMM thanx Strsse- now I'll explain why I said fold on fifth, and if you wouldn't mind to explain where the err in my resoning is I would appreciate it.
BPD raised 4th with K4 showing, to me this is a petty clear sign that she has a king down. When 5th came BPD bricked, bet out and was reraised. To me this says that fefimo can beat her kings on 5th, when he couldn't on 4th.
Are you saying she should use the ace as a scare card and try to get fefimo to fold or to play from behind because more than likely if she pairs another card she will have the higher hand?
Not trying to question your skills because they kill my stud skills obv. Just trying to understand. |

Prolly because 2 jacks were folded on 3rd so at best i had 2 pr and a raise from bigpairde would have gotten me to fold.
Or if it looked like I was raising a drawing hand then make me pay for it. I'm guessing here and am looking forward to the why as well from a stud player. |

Yeah you need a really big pot since your likley drawing to only half the pot you would need a pot twice the size you would in stud high. Thats why i say just fold it on 3rd to avoid the temptation to chase. |

No, not always. It's just that nobody has put any money into the pot. The bet on 5th is about a pot sized bet, and you are likely drawing at only half the pot. With a bigger pot it would be ok to continue. |

big pair did not raise 4th. She bet out. That means very little because she didn't complete 3rd. A ton of people bet out 4th street after limping simply because they are first to act w/ the high board and they are a drooler. Fefimo didn't have to, nor should he, give her credit for a pair of kings here. Had she raised 3rd, it might have been different. However, she didn't.
Plus, two jacks are gone on 3rd, so fef can't have trip jacks. At best, he has two pair, or a very very very very outside chance he slowplayed rolled tens, but I don't see that. Anyways, best he has is two pair, which big pair still has a ton of equity against. Even the two pair is rare, since he raised after catching a jack, 2 of which were already dead. It seems to me that he is raising a flush draw since he started w/ a diamond and raised after catching another. He could also have a straight draw, since he now has JT showing. A pair is also possible and he is just getting feisty trying to push her off high cards that could catch against him, since he's not giving her credit for a hand. 3betting on 5th is getting all the trash hands to hopefully go away, such as a single pair, possibly even 2 pair, but unlikely. The draws will stick around, but she is a favorite against them, so the raise is still good. |
