I wanted to start picking up PLO8/NLO8 in the near future. I've always been interested and the game seems so much more math/odds oriented than holdem with so many more possibilities.
I've been reading a lot of threads and it looks like generally a lot more of the play takes place on the flop when compared to holdem. Do you sometimes see all in hands preflop like you would with holdem, and is it ever a good idea to plan on pushing with anything but the best of hands (like the top 10 from the other thread)? With decent omaha hands, are you just generally making standard raises to build a pot preflop and then hoping to outplay the others with better postflop play?
Anyone know any good articles/reads to get me on the right track with some basic strategy? |

| Jeff Hwang's book on PLO is a must read... I didn't read the PLO8 section, but I'm sure it's as awesome as the PLO high parts... |

| Generally speaking, there is very little good PLO8 information available. I think the best advice you are going to get is from talented players who post in sections. Zophar is very good for this, and its possible he might be able to recommend some good posters from 2+2 to you, as well as some videos on training sites. As far as published books and articles go, there really isn't anything, as this is such a new game, and the sharks are hesitant to educate the fish. |

| I think I actually made a mistake. I didn't mean to put PLO8, I meant to say PLO Hi. I might try PLO8 later, but I think it might be simpler to start with just the high aspect of the game before making things more complicated. Sorry, you can tell I'm obviously new to the game. :p |
