I rather call with AK when the betting will be closed against 3 players max. If more i will reraise.
I see myself having some trouble with this sometimes.
i've seen sets and i've seen KQ-KJ in this situation. What should be the best possible way to play the hand?
I should have raised, but i wanted to see what the turn brought. Any none club would good, the eight seemed not to have helped his hand but it did.

I expected a C-bet and a call would keep it small and look like a mediocre hand. If no club would come, he might see it as a semi-bluff and would make a move.
So that's what happend and i moved in on him. Bad for me he hitted his hand and busted me out.
Was it better to take the pot right on the flop or let hem come on to me. I know this depends on the situation. |

While I like your thinking - (C-bet and reading you weak on that flop) I personally, like a re-raise on the flop - it's the first hand, I'm not terribly sad to take the pot down here and get a draw out off their hand or paying for it... often 8-8 will call and pay you off anyway. The turned set just sucked - that's poker. Not much you can do about that.
Now as a disclaimer, I do play mostly $2 SNG's - so at that level it's a different player. I could re-shove that flop and 8-8 is calling off their stack generally speaking... |

| I see no reason not to check raise that flop to 350 ish. Let him think that maybe you're on a draw and give him the chance to do something stupid. |

Ok, that's one off the better options actaully.
But how can this situations be propper solved? Even in first position:
- First hand off a s&g (5$ + 0,5$ - 9 handend, regulair speed)
- You're in early position and get AKs and raise to 90
- You get a late position call
Flop: A - 8 - 4 with two suits (no suits match yours)
1) You place a 180 bet and get called - a third different suit comes on the turn?
2) You place a 180 bet and get raised to 450?
3) You place a 180 bet and get raised all-in?
Actually, these happen very common in s&g's. You have top pair, top kicker (TPTK).
1) You need to defend your hand here.
2) Looks like a suck-in bet. Do you need to pay off a set with such a hand?
3) WTF is this? Pair and flush draw? 2 pair?
I just want to see some suggestions off you guys and ladies to. Because you don't want to go broke on your first hand, but you also don't want someone to show you AQ or AJ after you fold TPTK. |

| Reraise PF to 180, pot bet +200 on the flop to let him know you have him beat, you have the best hand why do you give him a cheap draw? |
